the breakers
the elms
rosecliff

至少前两个都是vanderbilt家族修建的
the breakers是大宅里面最恢弘奢华的
地面，墙壁，天花板都是大理石，玉石，丝绸，金，白金还有油画；随处都是艺术品
真的很震撼。
听着耳机里断断续续的讲解，让我更加对vanderbilt家族的兴衰感到好奇
这个家族必定鼎盛一时，所以才能够挥金如土，修建这么多summer "cottage"
但追踪没落，使得他们无法持续拥有这些豪宅而选择赠送给preservation society。

回到一开始的问题上：国内土豪为什么要送孩子来湾区。跨州比较学校相当困难，因为
考试不一样。最好的比法自然是看学生上了什么大学。不过由于私校录取的标准很模糊
，涉及到人种、校友、捐款等各种因素的影响，也很难比。比如说如果一个celebrity
住在Scarlsdale, NY或Greenwich, CT，他孩子很可能可以上Yale这样的学校。如果我
们的孩子住在这种地方，就要难得多。
一个最简单的比法就是看SAT成绩。当然成绩在美国远没有在中国那么有用，不过就算
是没有办法的办法吧。
上面提到的南湾的五所高中，加上Mission San Jose，SAT平均分都在1950左右，在加

2的个人英雄主义少了些，毕竟时代不同了。但是也更加真实。Churchill的ceo说了一
句话，现在不是要靠内幕消息赚钱的年代了。
有点儿给bear stearns和lehman抱不平的味道，很是博人同情。
还有gorden和1里面那个champ重逢的戏。哈哈，很是讽刺。原来人和人之间真的没什么
太大区别。
