couples in the state rights similar to married couples failed Monday after
Republicans rejected the proposal during a special legislative session.
Democratic Gov. John Hickenlooper had said the special session was needed to

今天早上起来，赫然看见Civil Rights推送的雄文“华左建群打舆论战，佯装角色
花招尽出”，打开一看说的是昨晚在圣路易斯的一个微信群里发生的口水战。我是事件
的参与者，与包括Civil Rights主编小谢在内的几人，展开了一次关于华人社区舆论的
有意思的辩论。我来站在与小谢不同的角度，向广大华人讲述一下事情的原委。
作为Civil Rights的资深读者，我从其创建早期就订阅并阅读它的文章。该公众号
过去几年陪伴许多华人走过了数次维权运动，我一度对小谢的热心十分钦佩，尤其佩服
他“谢绝高薪聘请毅然回国”之后，还紧盯美国华人的政治动向。然而，今年大选以来
，一直号称中立客观的Civil Rights，竟然一边倒为川普做起了“免费五毛”，而且为

civil union在new england已经试验了很多年了，最后还是要实现marriage，原因就是
Separate is not equal，这不光是一句口号，而也是实际中的问题。比如在VT实现
civil union 7年后，即使civil union在州里和marriage的权利一样，人们对civil
union partner和spouse的认同还是不一样的。比如一方得急病，救护人员不会不让
spouse也上救护车，但是就可能不让civil union partner上救护车。另外一个例子，
在有gay marriage或civil union的州，尽管州法赋于同性伴侣同样的权利，根
据The Federal Employment Retirement Income
Security Act (ERISA), self-insured companies，可以不遵循州法，而遵循联邦法，
不承认合法的同性伴侣关系，比如不给同性伴侣提供健康保险。我不太

经非常红火过，大约50，60，70年代，civil工程师在所有工程类中恐怕是地位最高的，
尤其在欧洲。 不过风水轮流转，现在显然这个行业不属于热门行业。
在美国，civil的起薪显然不高，硕士4万多，博士5万多很正常，6万多也有，7万以上的
很少很少。不过目前看来，civil工程有这样几个好处：
1。就业机会多而且工作相对稳定。如果你拿到PE，有3，5年工作经验，想跳个槽太容易
了。
2。知识更新换代慢，经验非常重要，越老越吃香，不需要花很大精力学习新的东西。
3。目前美国人口增长迅速，而且很多基本设施老化严重，CIVIL的前景看好。同时，CI
VIL工程师全国短缺，学这行的朋友不用担心找不到工作。 |
