了两年。有卡。现在想再找工作,也不想再继续以前的实验室生活,于是觉得patent
law也许可以一试。才有了这个想法,有如下顾虑:
phd的学位是机械,可是做的领域属于材料,纳米技术,催化化工,电池,半导体的
cleanroom fab工艺和表征都做过,如果加上硕士阶段做的光电材料和本科毕设的建筑
材料,是不是太杂了点,安排简历时应该强调某一具体方向呢还是这些都列上呢。
phd毕业于一个三流州立大学,是不是机会非常渺茫了,因为听说这行非常看中名校经
历。publication还可以,能不能弥补烂校毕业这个软肋?
读,写,做一般的technical presentation 还可以。只是在家呆了两年一定各方面都
退步不少,是不是要再找些科技文献看看,还是有专门的针对tech specialist的资料
可以学习?
我在northern virginia,应该是找dc area的firm吧,应该等着有openning出来投简历

CR)经验,工艺方面大致熟悉,薄膜工艺PVD,CVD,体硅加工,蚀刻,晶片级封装,电
子热封装,流体封装,传热测试系统搭建都比较熟悉。现在在本组今年年中毕业,老板
说可以留下来做一年以上薄厚,问题是我听说别人对postdoc和fresh phd的标准貌似不
一样,不知道是不是应该马上开始找工作了。另外感觉MEMS方面的职位不多,不想做工
艺,想做设计方面的,但是好机会很少,都不知道去哪里找position,认识的人都不靠
谱,在intel和各大foundry的所谓朋友前辈,一提要内推就没有回应了,不知道是不是
老中都是这个德行,现在的职位感觉大多要求工作经验,总之求建议。 |

P**S 发帖数: 243 | 13 cleanroom 硅片常见加工过程都比较熟悉,动手能力比较强
机械工程常用的工具像autocad, labview, g-code, 及各种machine, 等等都是天天用
喜欢做simulation和计算,最熟的环境是MATLAB 和COMSOL, 也会一点python
理论背景还算比较强,PhD读的机械工程,个人特别喜欢物理和数学,读了一个物理的
minor,又修了数学的课程。所以对半导体物理,固态物理,光学,量子力学理解的比较
好。对解偏微分方程,常见的各种计算,模拟也比较容易上手。
到现在为止作了一年机械工程postdoc. PhD和postdoc 的项目都偏微流动。
感觉自己的硬伤是,MEMS 方向没有机会动手做过sensor. 虽然理论上对常见的sensor
机理,设计,加工都很熟悉。只做过一次cantilever, 是一个课程设计的项目。像IC设
计, packaging都是纸上谈兵。 Microfluidics方向感觉大部分职位都是从化学方向招
,自己又不合适。
现在努力在找工业界的机会,上边提到的两个方向,有可推荐的机会,或者有什么建议

在100名左右的学校毕业,之后又在另一个差不多的学校作了两年postdoc。Mechanical
Engineering 科班出身,项目偏 microfuidics, MEMS。找工作挣扎了好久没有着落,
望板上各位兄弟姐妹帮帮忙。简单介绍一下本人背景。
软件方面:Matlab编程计算作了好几年,python编程能上手,从没刷过题。另外,用的
熟练的专业软件:SolidWorks,AutoCAD,COMSOL,LabView
MEMS 方面:简单的sensor,actuator都上手设计过,clean room fabrication做的很多
,大部分的cleanroom 设备都用的很熟练。
Microfluidics 方面:device,实验,simulation,计算都做过。

第一次在板上发帖。
我现在的情况:
在一个综排20,专排40左右的学校PhD一年级。因为本科学的光学还有其它各种原因目
前貌似跳到Nano-Optics方向这个就业火坑里了。
因为是第一年所以感觉research的小方向上还是有比较大的空间的。老板目前的课题大
概在plasmonics/metamaterial还有on-chip photonic interconnect上。
plasmonics/metamaterial这个方向目前的感觉是大家都在灌水,实在是看不到什么工
业界的应用,这个接着做下去基本就是postdoc争取faculty的路了,我实在也不想这样
,比较摧残人。
