liberal arts college的头两名。
楼主显然没有任何liberal arts college的exposure,我认识在mount holyoke的教授，
和amherst college也颇有交集。见识过他们/她们的学生的素质，真是杠杠的，公立大
学根本不能和他们比的。
南方有钱人，再不待见北方佬，把孩子送到北方的liberal arts college接受教育还是

骑驴找马换工作历时一年半终以完败告终，加之job market暗无天日，现打算辞职找个
Community College转成F1，直接裸奔大地方守株待兔。现主要有三个问题：
1. 是应该先提出辞职，还是先申Community College？有人说I-20下来，这边H1b自动
就失效了，所以必须先辞职，真的吗？那万一辞了Community College还没申下来咋办？
2. 现在最早提前多少天给I-20？印象中以前是90天还是120天来的？那俺二月底辞职申
九月入学的Community College就会肯定有Gap，不work了？可是三月开学的又赶不太上
，sigh。
3. 想转成F1以后回趟国可行吗？俺美国master，三年半工作经验，突然转成Community

position? It is easier to get tenure (less funding and publication required)
, the teaching load is actually the same as College of Engineering (2~3
courses per year). The salary is at the same level.
And College of tech encourage faculty to open small business, develop

I applied to 6 (Harvard,Princeton,Stanford,Dartmouth,Caltech,MIT) of the top
10 universities and 4 (Williams, Amherst, Davidson, Middlebury) of the top
10 liberal arts colleges. Finally in at 3 universities but rejected by 3 of
the colleges and waitlisted at one. The universities I didn't apply for--
Columbia and Duke I'm almost sure I can get in. But the remaining colleges--
Swarthmore, Pomona, Haverford, my odds are at best 20%.

我在这个学校呆了3个学期外加2次暑期班，感觉还不错，当时英文不好，我是从ESL开
始学起的，在这个学校学了蛮多东西，交了几个比较要好的朋友。我没有毕业，就直接
转到MSU了，省了不少时间。
-学费便宜，不收out of county fee,全NJ的学生去念都一样的价格。
-如果申请到financial aid, 学校的course schedule上会标注一笔补助的金额。凭这
张schedule，你能在学校的bookstore里购买课本、各种文具、还有其他的商品（eg.
你的补助金额为$200，在学校bookstore购买商品时出示course schedle, 就能用它抵
消掉$200的费用。）
-ESL Program 非常好,分科很细，教授都很尽责，教学质量高。如果想读语言的话，我

University 一般有很多间 colleges,譬如, Business, Architecture, Engineering
and Law..等等...一般去 University 上大学的, 你只去其中的一间的 college.
在美国, 很多时候 college 和 university 通用都差不多一个意思, 但是在加拿大和
其他的国家就有很大的分别, College 比 university 低点的学校.. |

而且貌似湾区的有MSCS的比如SJSU, SCU都需要你去community college补课。
然后我也需要F1维持身份，
基于以上原因，我要申请community college
所以请教
1. 湾区有哪些不错的community college可以让我补课CS本科core course呢？
2. 这些community college也可以发F1吧？然后我读了半年，申请到了18fall的master
，quit掉这个community college应该可行吧？

get ownership of the Red River for one year until the next game. It's one

标 题: 来谈谈美帝的又一阴谋：Liberal Arts College（LAC）和”精英教育“

几年前LAC在申请美国留学的大陆学生中间可火了。
大家的评价纷纷是 精英教育，小班教学，师生互动多，学生少，大家容易抱团。
不少完全有实力的留学生，有很高的SAT TOFEL分数，放着便宜容易进的名校（U
Washington,U Michigan, Purdue, UIUC, USC等)不去，偏偏去挤破头皮申请那些名字
都很少有人听过的Liberal arts college，导致LAC的申请录取率比那些名校还低，这
样一循环，中国学生更是挤破头皮想往LAC里面挤，甚至有人觉得挤进去了就是精英，
进不去上了USC，Purdue这些名校就是loser。
可惜这些学生来了美国一两年后就傻逼了。LAC所谓啥”精英教育“ ”高门槛“ 都是
