在意影响因子，不干生物却甚于生物。在流体力学之外，他显然也打起了化学＋纳米＋
材料的主意，他喜欢被attention，追流行。有几篇文章nanoparticle, nanorod 是关
键词。这篇PRL的文章是他独立之后的有限的亮点文章，但却走的是nanopore（这里是
micron size)的路线，主要是实验数据总结，强的理论基础看不出来。可以预见，这哥
们儿去了南方科技大，一定会与那里的纳米灌水风气相结合，搞出很多他想要的高点数
文章来。
另，25篇文章中与其PhD 老板的文章有10篇，够成了他迄今为止有限文章引用数的绝大
部分。

现在煤电厂的成本差不多$33-$50/MWHr
比较差的Combustion Turbine Gas Unit大概10-12左右的HEAT RATE（Efficiency
Factor）, VOM 算 $3/MWHrs
10×$2.5+$3 = $28/MWHrs
12x$2.5+$3 = $33/MWHrs
（12 HEAT RATE这种Gas UNIT以前根本一年就RUN几个到几十个小时，现在都是生力军
了，因为比最便宜的煤电厂都便宜）。
好点的Combined Cycle Gas Units都是7左右的HEAT RATE，发电成本也就20块。从2008
-2009年开始很多这种发电厂日夜运转，成为BASE UNIT。
现在很多电力公司发愁的是以前签的煤合同太多了（有些一签3年，5年，10年），又不
能WALK OUT，只好把一些煤电厂弄成MUST RUN，亏损着发电，不然煤就堆积成山了。当

可燃冰其实就是甲烷，而甲烷是无法直接替代石油的，无论是作为combustion发动机燃
料或者chemical feedstock
虽然有从甲烷到石油的gas to liquid过程，但是成本非常高工艺非常复杂，在低油价
时代gas to liquid和传统石油比完全没有优势
要说有威胁，可燃冰最多就是对shale gas有威胁，而且还是很久很久以后。

Petition Letter中解释了这个工作实际上是一个偏向研究的职位，但我感觉好象很容
易招致RFE。
老板认为可以改称“Project Engineer”（与我名片上的相同)，然后在职位说明中尽
量说明这是一个研究性的职位。我感觉“Project Engineer”不是很给力。然而老板好
像不愿意使用其他的名称，比如“Combustion Engineer”（不知道这个是不是听起来
给力一些？）之类，觉得可能对他个人会有什么影响，而且他觉得如果改了我的职位名
称，是不是同组其他工程师是不是也得改成一样的名称？
HR不在乎什么职称，只要我老板发信就同意改。感觉HR把皮球踢给我老板，让我和老板
谈。
我也不确定是不是“Project Engineer”还可以？是不是有更好的名称？如果有更好的
名称，不知道该如何说服我老板？对说服老板感觉不是很有信心。
希望有经验的能够不吝指教，如何应对这种情况？不胜感激！ |

Even a sedan has such a converter.

probelm with the oxygen sensor. My friend working at Middas told me that it
will not kill your car, but the engine efficiency will be affected.
2. Some times the ineffcient combustion of fuel in engine can cause check
engine light "on". It can be caused by diry injector. You can buy a bottle
of injector cleaner for a couple of bucks and pour it in your gas tank next
time you fill your tank. It may fix the problem. If it does |

从上个月（9月23日）发生火灾（见后面的原文）到现在快一个月了。今天晚上，打开
邮箱，我发现一封薄薄的信，来自Toyota, 上面写的地址是：Toyota Motor Sales, U.
S.A., Inc, 19001 South Western Avenue, Torrance, CA 90501。邮戳是10/15/2009
。我赶紧拆信，一边拆信还一边想，是好消息还是坏消息。
把薄薄一页纸的信读完，我的心一沉。果然不出我们所料，和网上其它有类似遭遇的
Toyota用户的报告一致，我们收到了同样的拒绝信。Toyota拒绝承认这是他们车子的问
题，和其他受害者一样，一封信，Toyota就把我们打发了。
读完这一封信，我是出离愤怒了。我无话可说 |

would stop sometimes when I slow down or stop. Sometimes it's dangerous when
I was making a turn and suddenly lose power steering. I even learned to
start the car while the car was still running at 10-20 mph. :)
I've taken the car to the dealer's. They tried to adjust the engine idle
speed but that didn't seem to work. I got a guess that there was not enough
