my AC ducts connecting the evaporator to the inlets of each room are also
wrapped with insulation materials. something like these

without insulation, I am not surprised to see condensate along the cold
ducts. hot humid air + cold surface = condensate. it's just physics. |

typically you need to have a drain pump nearby to drain the water to the
ground (or if in the attic, you you need to have a drain pan with a tube to
drain it to the outside)

如果是更换整套A/C，包括furnace的话，是$6000
请问：
1 13 SEER够用吗？法律规定最少是多少 13 SEER 还是14 SEER?
2 价格合理吗？是不是最好连furnace一起都换了？

发帖数: 1015 | 4 时常看到版上的帖子抱怨夏天空调不制冷，这次终于轮到我家了。
在网上和这个版上看了不少帖子，感觉和我碰的问题都不是很一样。
6年旧的楼上独立空调，以下是我已经试过或确认过的:
1.室内风扇和温度控制和户外风扇都正常运转
2.condenser应该也正常运转，因为可以听到AC liquid line (细铜管)内冷却剂流动的
声音。
3.air filter已经换了新的，外面condenser也用水清洗过。
4.draining pipe已经用Clorox通过了，肯定没有堵上。
5.draining pan里有一点水，不多，感觉evaporator coil可能原先有点结冰，已经通
过停止空调再加吹风去除冰了。
6. Evaporator所在的box摸上去挺冷，也有冷风从缝隙里漏出来,感觉evaporator coil
还是在制冷的
7. Ac liquid line摸着挺冷，但是AC suction line （保温材料包着的粗铜管)和环境
温度一样，不冷。网上文章说这不正常， AC suction line应该是 cold to touch.

contractor来估价。家在San Diego，一楼空调用的很少（每年也就2周左右），现在好
像装空调要办permit，大概5、600的样子。下面默认都是含permit费用的。现在空调尺
寸是3.5，只有一个contractor建议我搞3 ton的。
都是在angie's list上找的"super service award"的contractor，没看到华人店。
- 报价1 ：$6650. American Standard 4A7A4043L1000A，加ADP的coil，SEER 14。10
年parts, 2年labor

发帖数: 393 | 7 买房才几个月，昨晚第一次用空调。室内风扇正常转动，出风口有风，但不凉。外面看
condenser，发现一点动静都没有，condenser里面那个大fan一点都不动，整个unit也
很安静，没有任何声音。用手拨动叶片是可以转的，无阻力。所以应该不是风扇的问题
。检查了一下circuit breaker，所有都switch on了。capacitor外观正常，手头没有
工具测量电容。上网查了一下，如果是capacitor的问题，会听到compressor发出轰鸣
声，this is the compressor attempting to access a non-functioning capacitor
。我家这个没有任何声音。考古了一下版上以前的帖子，似乎跟我家情况还不大一样。
请问还有什么可以检查的吗？我完全是菜鸟。 |

condenser的，蓝线好像是C (Common), 白线是控制heat pump的，绿线是控制室内fan
的。

1800 sqft， 地下1000 sqft. 感觉Costco的最优了是不是？他家还有12month 0%APR。
建不建议多花650块装ECM motor？ 另外还在等一家local Lennox dealer的报价， 不
知道和Costco比如何。多谢imore

condenser）不应该启动的。
但是这确实发生了：
furnace启动的时候，condenser也会启动然后运行不到一分钟。更奇怪的是，这种情况
也不是每次furnace启动的时候都发生。家里两台HVAC，只有一套有这样的问题。
这是怎么回事？

leakage: if so, may be just need to add freon: ~ $300
If no leakage, most likely you have a problem with compressor in the
outdoor
condenser unit. Check if you hear anything besides the fan's sound.
Suggestion: get a service guy to take a look. Ask him to test freon
pressure
and try to use a hard start kit to start your compressor.
To qualify tax rebate: either get a condenser with 16 SEER or a 95%
efficiency furnace

好多condensation boiler都fail了（回水冻上了，好像）
然后大家开始complain，说政府收了厂家的好处，推广
condensation boiler，类似阴谋论的样子
anyhow，我家从一个60年代的boiler换到buderus的86％AFUE
的普通boiler，也省了很多 |

***Typically it is the fan motor***, or associated moving parts.
Sometimes it is the housing vibrating from the spinning of the blower fan.

上，一个管楼下。
现在我希望seller换2个全新的HVAC系统，不知道应该怎么说？就说replace 2 brand n
ew HVAC system吗？还是需要同时更换其它的部件？

1. Trane furnace:xv95,condenser:XR16(SEER17)+wifi touchscreen THERMOSTAT +
10 年 part warranty and 5 年 labor.
2. Lennox EL296 furnace, XC14(SEER14) + 2 stage THERMOSTAT. 10年part
warranty
3. YORK furnace:YP9C, condenser:YCJF(SEER14) + 2 stage THERMOSTAT 10年part+
labor warranty。
都是5 ton的系统，都是dealer负责安装。trane和lennox差不多价钱，york要便宜一点。

的帖子，点燃了俺灌水的激情。
一对朋友夫妇上个月在Robbinson Town那边由于没看到Stop Sign出了车祸，车的样子
很夸张，Hood顶起来了一大块。由于是周日，没有Body Shop开门，有人就推荐了Tao那
里，俺一直对Tao没有什么好感，但也没有选择，就帮忙叫了AAA把车拖到了那里，Tao
也及时赶到。由于Hood的钩子已经变形了，打不开，他就把车吊起来看了看，说坏的很
严重。这期间他一直说些唬人的话，比如说Frame坏了，需要重新调过，空调的
Condenser要重新换新的之类，还好俺稍微懂点车，就告诉朋友夫妇不要被他吓到，没
那么严重，最后他拿了张纸算了算说至少要2400，说弄不好要4000多，建议俺们把车卖
给他。俺看他副嘴脸，当时就建议那对朋友不要在这修，但周日又没有地方可以去，就
告诉Tao先别修，让俺们考虑一下，他一口答应。
周一中午接到朋友电话，说Tao擅自找他隔壁的Body Shop用电焊打开了Hood，然后重新

fine (no molding). After a few days, ask the AC services company to paint
the ceiling. I had the same problem with my AC condensing pipe blocked, and
painted the ceiling by myself (my builder left me two cans of internal
paint when my housing was purchased). There are two paints (one is the base
color, and the other is the coating), and you need to paint twice. |

和coil不匹配，condenser是Trane XL 15i 4TTX5060A,coil是Lennox CH23-65。网上查
了一下它们都是5吨的，怎么就会不匹配呢？难道仅仅是因为不同牌子吗？请明白人指
教，谢谢！ |

现在能绕过ban的基本只有blend crude 和light condensed crude. 但blend crude里
只有很小一部分是轻油，基本还是卖的重油。light condensed crude轻到基本用来做
化学品。
完全的WTI只有价格做为benchmark,没有实际的出口交易。

发帖数: 8950 | 48 先确定你的THERMALSTATS是否工作。也就是在设定制冷后，一但屋内温度高于设定温度
后，看THERMALSTATS是否给空调上电。如果是新的THERMALSTATS，屏幕上会有显示；如
果是很老的，你可能只能用耳朵听一下是否有SWITCH的声音。然后看屋外的CONDENSER,
也就是空调压缩机，在THERMALSTATS供电后，风扇是否转。如果上面两项都没问题，再
看看屋外和CONDENSER连接的冷凝管是否有大量的接霜或冰。如果有，那就是冷媒不够
了。
从时间上算，你做房检应该在一、二月份。那个时候没有办法检查空调。再加上你又住
了两个月，找代理或INSPECTOR没有可能的。至于SELLER，你要有证据显示，他/她知道
空调不工作，却没有DISCLOSE给你。否则，你找SELLER也没用。我的意见，你就自己找
人修吧。2012年的空调，修起来不会太贵。 |
