We had a great meeting with Senator Marty Block at the OceanAir Town Hall
meeting on Oct 2nd. SDAAFE mobilized ~30 Asian American parents to show up
in the meeting, which is more than 2/3rd of the total who attended. Even
though SCA5 was not on his topic list, and the senator got an earful of SCA5
, with over 30 minutes of dedicated discussion on this topic, with more than
10 Asian American parents voiced our uniform opposition as well as our
reasoning.

发帖数: 395 | 7 我装的我自己家的所以比较关注这方面的产品。我的感觉是，监控摄像头正在从标清到
高清的换代中，所以最近标清监控摄像头减价减的厉害，而高清的还没有定型，而且规
格和款式都不太统一。比较典型的例子是 Swann。 Frys 里面从一般家用的很便宜的
DVR 到High resolution 的True blue都有他家的产品，分辨率也是从320到704都有，
猜想是还没有统一规范的过渡时期。
为了达到少花钱多半事的目的，我的系统用的是计算机插卡式的，支持从320到640 不
同摄像头的分辨率，而且我的摄像头是分次买的，根据监控方向的重要性，逐次用高性
能的 rugged 监控摄像头换下原来的摄像头到次要方向，这样投资不多但是在主要威胁
方向上不至于太落后。
当然这也是有弊端的，譬如台式机要用后备电源，一般的 UPS 支持时间不常，会是安
全隐患。另外我对无线传输的可靠性不太了解，用的都是有线的。实际走线并没有想象
的那样麻烦，而且如果怕被坏人剪断线的话可以用 PVC 或者 EMT的 conduit 走。我觉
得裸线也不错，有线在外本身也有威慑作用。

洛杉矶地区没有最好的私立高中，只有最合适的私立高中。四所最严格私立高中是
Flintridge Prep, Pasadena Poly, Webb 和 Harvard-Westlake. 有些人可能会说最严
格的就是最好的，但对于大部分学生来说这种说法不对。对于大部分学生来说这种严格
的学校压力过大，每晚五小时的家庭作业 (脑子好使的), 加上周末，从九年级开始就
用大学程度课本。再加上2到3小时的体育训练或者演奏练习，加上社团，公共服务，和
课外活动。在申请大学的时候，大学不会因为你上一所非常难的私立学校，而对你网开
一面，反而在这里更难拿到好成绩。
最好从你所居住的周围开始咨询，因为你不会想要每天开很远的路程。就算是比较不那
么难的学校每晚也有3到4小时的家庭作业。有些学校有非常强的运动计划或者艺术计划
，所以选什么学校完全看你需要什么。不要太看中升学率，因为那主要取决与学生而不
是学校。
很多洛杉矶的天主教学校也收一部分非天主教的学生。天主教学校的费用通常只有私立

根据我的车的布局，架子安装在Bar的上方。可以根据实际情况把架子垂在Bar的下方。

the breatheability. Precip is more or less on par with other materials like
Conduit, HyVent, etc. They are all less breatheable than GoreTex, but will
do the work. I have lots of rain jacket. The one I bring when the chance of
rain is pretty low and when I want to pack light is the marmot precip. |

rock climbing 爬multi pitch的时候，我一般带着一件十几块钱买的哥伦比亚防雨夹克
，带帽子的，n年前买的了，一般的小雨能防，风也能防，就是透气性不咋样，不过绝对
是小，轻，折起来就一个巴掌大，可以挂在harness上
如果是hiking，我一般就带一件marmot precip或者MHW conduit的jacket，如果是大雨
大雪天，就带goretax的hardshell |

我的第一套，确切的说，是一套半，也是我目前为止唯一专门为滑雪买的衣服，也是co
lumbia。columbia在普通老百姓眼里，和TNF一样，都算是名牌了(当然早年的TNF比
columbia专业多了，后来TNF开始走了下坡路，反倒是columbia收购了mountain
hardwear之后，把日常消费和高端户外运动市场都占了），不过，columbia在专业户外
运动里排不上号。
作为入门的衣服，columbia的滑雪服对付一般的天气也算是足够了。之所以说是一
套半，是因为有两件裤子，一件上衣。第一件columbia的滑雪裤是从amazon买的，十块
钱，不带insulation，water resistent（其实就是基本不防水），只能在风和日丽的
条件下穿，另一件稍微好点，30块钱，多了insulation，可以在冷一些的时候穿，仍然
不防水。 上衣稍微贵了一点，70左右，不防水，但是下雪天用没问题，双层。这件衣
服我曾经用来登山穿了一年左右，不过都是在好天气的条件下。
这些衣服都有5年左右的历史了，在天气好的时候，雪场内仍然是我的主力滑雪服。

漏水也没多大危险。
