I submitted my waiver application 2 weeks ago (mailed to NY and the DOS at
the same time). It's still being processed at NY center.
Have you been able to get a hold of the NY office? I agree with the
suggestion that you might need to reach out to the education office of the
consulate in your region. It sounded like your regional consulate staff were
the ones that denied your waiver request, not the NY center.

我看了我的申请表（上个月批准的），学校帮我在“Part 4.Processing Information
”里头选了国内的领事馆。关于这一项的描述是：“If the person name in Part 3
is outside of the United States or a requested extension of stay or change
of status cannot be granted, give the US consulate or inspection facility
you want notified if this petition is approved.”
这就是你说的consulate processing申请吗？谢谢！
前面说了，08年后在美国申请工作签证申请人的材料理论上应该在PIMS里面，但实际上
绝大多数人都不在里面。原因：根据DOS的一份记者问答报告，只有申请签证时候选择
consular processing的签证才会在PIMS里 |

能够顺利签证成功，还是要归功于potala，所以在此附上签经，也希望能帮助后来的朋
友。
背景：2009年1月在北京F1签证，被check两个星期，于1月29日收到clearance。
签证过程：于4月26日于toronto反签F1。预约时间是周一上午8点，7：20am到使馆附近
，在附近的starbucks买了早餐和coffee。然后7：40am准备进consulate general，后
来过安检的时候发现还有iphone的耳机和充电电线，也算在电子设备中，所以最后还要
出来找个地方重新存放。所以请大家引以为鉴。
重新进入consulate general，到1－3号窗口交材料，拿到011号。接着等待在9或10号
窗口按手印，发现有趣的事情是，现在还有中文叫号，挺有意思。
据我观察，8号窗口白妹妹第一个开始工作，大约是8：15左右，6号一个黑女大约在10
分钟以后开始叫号。约在20分钟以后，7号和5号窗口也开始工作了，7号是一个中年白
男，年纪比起其他人要长很多，看起来还蛮nice的，但奇怪 |

我先预约的是十月4日，后来改期了两次。结果不巧的赶上了南加州的雨季。从洛杉矶
到TJ的一路非常的terrible，一路暴雨，路很难看清，2点半离开洛杉矶，将近9点才到
san Ysidro。路上经过san clemente的时候发现不对劲，车很难keep line,方向盘打直
，车会自己偏，我开始一点点觉得是轮胎在漏气，于是下了高速，到了san clemente市
区，然后到UPS问了一个好心的大叔哪里有修轮胎的，结果只有一家叫做big o tire的
地方开。于是开过去，人家巨忙。在我面前有五辆车在等。我从五点一直等到七点，他
们开始要charge 我30块钱，用在人工费和检查维修费，换胎另算。我心想算了，认栽
好了，修好就行。耐心的等到7点，一个墨西哥裔大叔跟我说，一切都正常，是胎压出

网上约了周五早上9:30签.
网上订了五天的旅馆(Travelodge Hotel Vancouver Airport, 3071 St Edwards Drive
Richmond, BC V6X 3K4(800) 578-7878 ).周四晚入住,周二离开.
周五早上8:00开车到Canada Line的bridgeport station的Park&Ride(是个赌场的停车
站,有天桥与车站相连),在天桥的进站端有parking收费机($2.5),再往里走是Canada
Line的收费机,缴费3.75(到Waterfront下).
到waterfront station后走大约5,6个block后到US Consulate.开始排队.人满多的.直
到9:30之后约9:00的那批才全部进去.到我进去已经十点多了,先是安检,手机等电子产
品禁止带入,有个韩国人因为带了手机只好去存了包(不知道存在哪里了,反正consulate
没这个服务).遥控车钥匙可以带.之后是在2楼等着按手印.等我按完都已经11:30多了,

港，约了在香港的consulate签证。797b表上说如果要notify another consulate需要
file 824表，至少一个月才能完成。可不可以用这个写着beijing conculate的797b表
在香港签？？？如果不能，只有另外两个选择：
现在要么等一个月（乐观估计）拿到新的７９７ｂ然后在香港签，要改机票和找临时住
处，或者赶着去北京签证，重新预约（不知道能不能约到下个星期的，来美机票是下下
星期）。都很费事,要被公司的律师搞疯了(之前出过一次错了，忘了file premium
processing三星期以后才发现)

目前的I-20是6月10号过期.签证5月过期.护照过期还差很多年.
要在san diego呆呆,考虑顺便去TJ旅游或者续个签哈.
1, 如果我2月底去TJ签F-1,但是I-20是6月10号过期, 那我拿到的新的签证过期日期是
2013年2月某天
还是今年的6月10号?
2, 离开美国(san ysidro)的时候要不要交I-94? 分两种情形:
如果不打算在TJ签证;
如果打算在TJ申请签证.
3, 如果在TJ被check(敏感专业命苦啊)想闯关,
是建议走换I-94的队还是直接走那个很长(但是快)的US Customs队?
换I-94的地方就是special case permission的地方吗?
我觉得签证的步骤是这样的:
day1: ACS(指纹什么的), day 2: consulate 面谈, day 3: consulate 取护照(签证)
4, day 1 在ASC忙完了可以回到san diego 吗?
ASC会还我护照吗? 如果不还,可以要回来吗?
会有其他痕迹(比如I-20?)看出来我申请了签证吗?

两个多月前，经版上考古，发现邮寄纽约申请旅游签证耗时少不到三周，多不过两月，
遂抱着侥幸心理，估计两个多月应该够了。谁知道最后还是亲自去领事馆跑一趟
withdraw，白搭许多时间，精力和汽油钱。

J1 renewal，必要材料：护照，DS2019，D160确认页，appointment首页，SEVIS fee
receipt，另一个photo ID其余酌情携带。
不需要Mexico的Visa
做Greyhound去的话，可以考虑坐去TJ central bus term的省钱。到TJ那一段可以让司
机给你放到一个离宾馆比较近的地方下车可以省打车费。
从reward角度考虑，可以先定一天的宾馆，然后酌情定第二天的。不过这也存在当天定
不了的风险。
去ASC拍照只需要带必要材料，可考虑把其他的都免费存在宾馆。
去consulate面签可以将包存在门口的food truck。现在感觉基本当天拿不到了，不过
no hurt to try。
ATT好像只能在离border很近的地方用，离border远的话就成了当地的网络。如果不想
在TJ当地用电话的话，建议提前关掉international roaming。
白天TJ感觉还比较安全，晚上未知
TJ很多路口没有traffic control，像几处网上攻略讲的一样，过街需要胆量和厚脸皮。

结果得到的回复很少，在为数极少的回复里也是寥寥数语。我现在是在485 pending.

我们是大陆护照，美国绿卡，寒假回国（之前想从美国飞台湾，但是机票太贵，所以还
是先飞大陆），想中间去台湾一趟。已经在跟旅行社办入台证了，但是突然查到如果从
大陆到台湾，需要一个大陆颁发的《大陆居民往来台湾通行证》，这个证似乎只有到大
陆的公安局出入境管理处才能办，我们在大陆的时间不长，所以很有可能一下子办不下
来，那么这样的话，如何顺利去台湾呢？驻美的中国使馆可以办这个通行证吗？
现在我们的想法是先办一个香港的通行证（btw，是不是有绿卡还是得办这个通行证啊
？网上还有人说不用办，美国绿卡持有者自动有90天的停留期），然后先到香港，再从
香港飞台湾，这样大陆护照+台湾准入证是不是就可以了？有人这样飞过吗？那个大陆
的通行证是不是就不用了？
然后从台湾回来，如果坐直航飞机，也是护照+准入证，是不是就可以了？

applications to replace the old passport. I just got mine replaced, and my
hubby needs to replace his this time.
On their website, the consulate explicitly said that no self-made photos are
acceptable. Last time, my hubby did mine, and it was too dark, so I had to
wait in line to get new photos shot in NYC consulate. It was extra hassle.
Well, this time we may have to use the flash somehow to make it work. It's

绝了，理由
1, the sender and the receiver must be different
2, UPS would not physically give me a prepaid label that I will later give
to someone else, they can send this label to consulate, and consulate can
use this label to ship to me.
Is UPS insane or consulate is insane??

如所持中国护照有效期不足一年或已过期、护照签证页用完或儿童因年龄增长容貌

1、填妥并签名的《中华人民共和国护照/旅行证/海员证/回国证明申请表》1份；
