pumpkins吧。应该算是个擦边球 - 97年,乐队的巡演键盘手Jonathan Melvoin嗑药而死
，鼓手Jimmy也吸毒过量失去意识，乐队因此而不得不把Jimmy暂时"开除"。从那以之后
，乐队开始走向低谷。不过，Jonathan Melvoin当时并非乐队的基本成员－算是勉强挖
个坟吧。才知道本版的南瓜头甚众，有冒犯的地方，还请多多包涵:)。
和摇滚界众多的传奇英雄相比，smashing pumpkins只是个小弟。1988年，乐队的灵魂
人物Billy Corgan (主音吉他)和日裔美国人James Iha (rhythm guitar)，贝斯手D'
arcy Wretzky，还有鼓手Jimmy Chamberlin于Chicago成立了smashing pumpkins。乐队
初期和中期的风格是alternative rock。1991年乐队发布了首张专辑“Gish”，并没有

a foul mood. About six or seven songs into their set, he started playing
the opening chords to Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit," and the crowd
went crazy.
He then started mocking the crowd, saying something like, "Yeah, that's all
you wanna hear, isn't it? Fuck you!" He then stormed off stage, and the
show was over.
The next day, Kurt Cobain was found dead in his home.

的旋律或者是基于和弦的音序。好的riff在歌中起到很重要的作用，
它也许是使歌曲成功的重要原因。一段好的摇滚riff应该象个领袖一
样，有明星般的气质和号召力，它的魅力能够感染你，让你连续不停
地弹奏十分钟都不感到乏味。
我们的第一张专辑中的一首歌“Siva”就是由一段吉他riff启发而写
出的，当我刚刚在吉他上弹出这段riff（见图1）的时候，就立刻有
些热血沸腾，预感到我能写出一首很棒的歌，虽然当时我对歌曲的整
体还没构想好。

这段riff确实听上去与众不同，很直接，也很有力量，整个歌曲就好
象着它自己衍生出来一样。相比之下，我写的其它很多歌都显得有些
懦弱。从那时起，我就开始注意用好的riff与歌曲的搭配结合，这段
“Siva” riff使我明确了在乐队中我所要做的工作。
在写“Siva”这首歌时，我是在一家唱片店打工，我总是带着一把箱
琴去上班，当店里没有别人的时候，我就坐在柜台后面弹琴。这段ri
ff最开始就是在箱琴上 |

what can i say, it was a blast just like any other concert
you'll see billy corgan in it. zwan really sounds like
smashing pumpkins. they did play some old pumpkin songs.
bassist is still a chic, she also plays piano and violin
and swing her hip back and forth.
drummer is kick ass, used a lot of ghost notes and very
fast single bass.
the act was about 2 hours, then one encore, just about

I've been following those Punmpkins engineers also.
Now those guys are quality assurance :)
Flood who produced "Mellon Collie..." went on to produce U2,
Alan Moulder went to produce Nine Inch Nails.

upcoming Smashing Pumpkins reunion.
The band's former guitarist is busy working on a solo album and his indie
record label, and is not planning on joining his former band mates on their
upcoming tour dates scheduled for this spring and summer.

album.
'Zeitgeist' is set to be released on July 7, and will feature 12 new tracks
from the reformed band.
Of the original members of the band it has only been confirmed that Billy
Corgan and drummer Jimmy Chamberlain will be in the band.

，主要还是看光头去的。Bill Corgan暴瘦，穿了个亮亮的兰色长衫，头也是亮亮\/(＝
＝)。光头很可爱啊，最后还带着大家唱"I love rock'n'roll"，hoho。还是喜欢他们
的老歌胜过新歌，光头中间唱"tonight,tonight"的时候大家都很high，最后返场他居
