哪位熟悉这二个学校？ 二选一该如何？
学费差不多，都是30个学分, Columbia的综合排名第四(CS 17) 但是康奈尔的计算机
排名第5 (综合15)
未来的倾向是读博士或者是做一些有开发性的工作

Dr. Xu was a student/postdoc in David Scheinberg's lab at Cornell/Sloan
Kettering, but I don't think he ever got a faculty position there. Dr.Xu might have made some contribution to the CD33 projects, his main work was about the regulation of CD13/aminopeptidase N.

哥大是一年的stat，可以选finance的eletives
Gatech是个标准的FE项目，但是不是IVY
cornell是也是一年的operation research，也可以选finance的eletives |

I think both schools are at the same level it really depends what LZ wants.
Boston/NYC and CA are both good for pharm/healthcare. CA is better at VC whi

disadvantage in job hunting. True is that big management consulting firms
come for campus recruiting, but it's a 1 year program... Not sure if you
have time to balance the tough coursework and job hunting.
I heard INSEAD is a very finance-focused school.

seniors have left the department, UCLA is now declining... Also, if you are
interested in financial econometrics, Yongmiao Hong is one of the best you
could have in the world. |

it's not worthwhile to pay the UCLA tuition. Most rankings reflect the
standing 5 years ago or at a even earlier time, and have not reflected the
recent decline in UCLA. |

reputation. i also took course from hotel management at cornell when pursue
this degree which counts for the credit earned. |

发帖数: 2586 | 43 公司Fellowship committee的结果下来了，结果我踩了狗屎运 ：拿到了全额的奖学金
（差不多 $36k), 外加照常发 100% 的工资，送我去读一年的 Systems Engineering (
Computer Science track) 的 Master。条件就是，学成归来后要在公司签约干三年，
说得好听点是“重点培养“，难听点等于是签了三年的卖身契。
问题是，我其实心里不是很想在这个地方干下去，两个原因：公司小组内部的politics
让我觉得不是很舒服，另外location 也奇烂无比 - 加州的某个小角落,地处沙漠边缘,
远离文明世界...
但是如果放弃又很舍不得，本来没有指望能拿到的，竞争满激烈的：fellowship
interview的时候每个applicant给了半小时，偶啥也没准备，回答问题都很短，也没有
长篇的演说，7分钟就出来了，非常没有面子。去的别的美国人个个都能侃上半个小时.
.. 另外怎么说也算是毕业后工作机会有保障了，毕竟如果自己出来找，现在这个经济
想找好的工作挺困难的
