Most persons recovered in cold water "near" drowning cases show the typical
symptoms of death:
Cyanotic (blue) skin coloration
No detectable breathing
No apparent pulse or heartbeat
Pupils fully dilated (opened)
These symptoms, it was discovered, did not always mean the victim was dead.
They were, on the other hand, the body's way of increasing its chances of
survival through what scientists call the mammalian diving reflex. This
reflex is most evident in marine mammals such as ...

Close monitoring at birth indicated that the Igflr(-I-) dwarfs were born
alive but, despite visible efforts to breathe, became cyanotic and died
within minutes. Lung tissue dissected from several mutant neonates obtained
from independent litters failed to float on water, indicating that air never
reached the alveoli.

Answer is B because most of the time the answer is the simplest intervention
. The baby is cyanotic and the first thing you should think of is foreign
body aspiration. Two chest thrusts can dislodge it and chest compression is
the first step you would do before oxygenation, vascular access, epinephrine
or defibrillation.

and circulation)...Ventilate with oxygen always has first priority.
Common things first in any situation. I am telling you from experience. When
you do ACLS/PALS the first thing you do is look for a foreign body in a
child who is cyanotic. Positive pressure ventilation is never done in
resuscitation only umbobag is used in CPR so A is wrong in that sense too.
