能不能申报5000的DCFSA?要不能是不是就白损失$5000?
有学会计的吗?这样情况该怎么办?谢谢。

宝宝现在1岁,今年已经给他存了5000刀的DCFSA,准备秋天让他上Day Care。但现在又
担心他到时候会不适应Day Care,没法上。
请问如果到时候不能上Day Care,这DCFSA的5000刀该怎么办?

2010年的DCFSA里我放了$5000。娃三月份开始送day care,去年的学费肯定超5000。
LD去年8月底开始念书,full-time,有奖学金。之前我一个人工作。我们这种情况
qualify DCFSA吗?LD上学前的娃的学费也能算吗?

Change in child care/elder care provider or cost or coverage, such as a
significant cost increase charged by your current daycare provider, or a
change in your daycare provider. This applies to a DCFSA only. It does NOT
apply to a HCFSA or LEX HCFSA.

2441表里有好几个EXPENSE项,每项都略有不同.
我的理解:
line 1 (d)是你的花费.
Part III line 18 "qualified expenses",指的是你当年付的,用于当年DAYCARE 服务
的钱(Paid and incurred in 2008)
Part II line 2 (c) "qualified expenses", 我觉得应该是: min (line 18
qualified expenses, $3000) - DCFSA benefits
比如说,你花了$7000,Part III line 18 应该填$7000.你们的DC-FSA有$5000,并且你们
用了这$5000来REIMBURSE了,min($7000,$3000) - $5000 < 0,所以Part II line 2(c)
应该是0.
如果,你花了$2000,DC-FSA有$1400,那么,min($2000,$3000) - $1400 = $600, PART II
line 2(c)应该就填600.
不知道你软件问的是哪个"QUALIFIED EXPENSE

不是我们故意放超过的,我enroll 2011 benefit时候让我填一个数额,但没想到2011
最后一次工资是放在2012年1月4号发的,于是收到的2011年的w-2关于DCFSA这项就少于
我设定的数额,最后一次算到2012年了,要命的是我老公已经设置2012年存5000,这样
2012年我们就存超过5000了,这样报税怎么办?会罚款吗?要求公司改,人家不理,说
全公司都这样。。。

When you prepare your Federal taxes during the next calendar year, you need
to complete Form 2441 "Child and Dependent Care Expenses" (attached to Form
1040), and add the amount in excess of $5000 (your case is $5000) back into
your income. However, if you have more than $5000 in dependent care expenses
(effectively paid with after-tax dollars since you added it to your income)

For the Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit, which is different than your
DCFSA, you may use up to $3,000 of the expenses paid in a year for one
qualifying individual, or $6,000 for two or more qualifying individuals.
These dollar limits must be reduced by the amount of any dependent care
benefits that you exclude from your income.
看这话的意思是不是先FSA放5000,然后我给宝宝交了9000的学费一年,减去这个5000.
剩下4000中的3000用来CLAIM 1040的child credit?

这里提醒大家DCFSA(dependent care)有一个很重要的条件就是夫妇合报的家庭必须是
双职工(即双方都必须有earned income,full-time student and disability 除外)
。如果elect 的时候没有注意到这个问题,将来会有reimburse的问题,必须马上和HR
说明,revoke 你的election。
