小泡泡填了7所学校，被HYPS 全拒。被一所二流私立，UCB及州立的Honor Program 录
取。平常豁达宽心的小泡泡（希望有机会去S 大学）前天有点沮丧，现有好转，开始好
好考虑下步的路。这不又为同学电脑免费出诊去了。
此事上少有焦虑和动容的太太，这两天也有点不自在。愿她会很快淡忘此事。
小泡泡绝不是天才和顶聪明的孩子，但俺也相信他不是一个笨蛋和弱者。下面将俺能想
到的他的申请失败之处列出，是自责不是开脱自己，愿对其他家长们有用。俺尽量客观
，但难免个人的心态和偏见。大家要砸要骂要提建议要分析原因，俺都接受和感谢。
客观失误：
1． 数学和Academic 不是很强
2． 与 Counselor 的关系不是最佳
3． 科技老师的推荐信可能不是最好
4． 九，十年级的暑期大都旅游和在家玩过去了，未学其他AP课（我们无知）
5． 作文可能不切题，就一，两篇翻改
6． H 早期决定被延期后没足够重视（目标S），圣诞和元旦期间外出返家后（1/5）才
匆匆在1/10 日截止前完成其它学校的申请

说起降难易，基本上是看最大失速速度，这个大体上和最高速度成还有近进速度正比，
特技机又不飞得显著更快，甚至有些更慢，比方经典的pitts。
说操控，特级机是向着气面不分离优化的，操作上的安全冗余度更大，简单的来说就是
可以更大攻角而不失速。而且操作舵面大，反应敏锐。
如果说稳定性的话，活塞飞机，没有本质区别。气动的影响还不如发动机马力的影响对
操控性能的影响来的显著。faa对开大马力（〉300？）单发活塞飞机的驾照有进一步的
要求。对特技机倒没有。
初六，头上的发动机那么大一陀，显著影响起降时候的视野，增加操作难度。而且下单
翼，飞行过程中，对地视野非常不好，有违休闲娱乐看风景的本意。上单翼的特技机,
比方American Champion Decathlon，就好得多了。
能飞特技的飞机里并列双座的也不少，虽然其中大部分飞特技的时候只能上一个人。民
用市场上，大部分人更喜欢并列座舱。虽然说话都要用耳机话筒，但是还是并列的交流
方便，手势啊表情啊，共享仪表面板，等等好处，初六这样串座的就没啦。

Volvo ought to be tooting its horn over this one. The XC90, an SUV that has
essentially been on sale for over 10 years, just captured a Top Safety Pick+

car seat的问题。现在因为到目的地要租车，单租一个car seat要65刀，所以打算把她
自己的car seat带着。不知是当作行李check in好，还是carry one带上飞机固定在座
位上好。女儿四岁多一点，car seat是Britax Decathlon。多谢。 |

发帖数: 1422 | 35 问题是芝加哥的magnet school录取不跟其他大城市一样(admission to selective HS
is based on merit alone, ex. NYC,LA)。规定了对于某好吃懒做只知道吃政府福利而
且对孩子不负责任的race要有进三元里奥赛班最低比例的要求，否则那个种族的家长就
会游行说你种族歧视。联邦法官对芝加哥这种几十年的无赖做法看不过去了，裁定CPS
必须停止以race比例录取。但人CPS出台一大堆新条款，变相换汤不换药,white& asian
kids比例只是增加了一点点。
更让人不理解的是还有些asian明明自己被歧视和压榨了，还笑脸相迎的捧臭脚。这得
自卑到什么程度阿？what a shame!
