offer的学校允许推迟1年入学。如果defer一年中找工作不理想，可能回学校读PhD。
我在考虑这一年的defer是否值得？下面是我的一些想法，可能有认识偏差。希望能听到大家的意见。
我所想到的好处是：
这一年可以让我对自身在就业市场上的定位有所认识。因为现在为止我还没能腾出时
间找工作。
如果在这一年内找到还算可以的工作，也许不会回学校了。毕竟如果能读出来，年龄
令人担忧。如果读不下来，找工作会是个问题，除非公司能马上解决身份问题。
我的顾虑主要是如果最终还是回到学校，这一年的defer似乎没有什么好处：
加大年龄大的劣势；
看到一些工业界工作后再读PhD的情况，一般这样的决定是否仅仅为了转到学术界工
作？我没有计划过在学术界呆着，将来也许仍然如此。
工作后再读PhD, 如果还是H1b,身份是否转回F1? 将来毕业还要经历F1到H1b的转换以
及面临相关的潜在问题？如果再返回学校读书，等到绿卡时去做，身份转换的麻
烦才会小些？哪种情况的比较多？

从达拉斯到休斯顿去玩超速吃了罚单，IH 610限速60开74（警察在罚单
上标注说实际上有80）。因为早几个月已经吃过一张所以不能再去学习
班了。琢磨着保险反正要涨，不如硬着头皮上法庭申辨碰碰运气。但是
仔细看了一下罚单后面的小字，我发现有一条选择可能对我更有利。这
一条叫Deferred Adjudication. 其解释是：如果法官同意，你的罚单可
以被取消。这取决于你的记录以及法官开出的条件。（另外几种选择是：
1.上学习班，一年只能一次；2.降低罚款，由法官掌握；3.照单全付。
得到这些选择的前提是认罪。）但是，我并不知道能不能得到Deferred
Adjudication. 罚单上还写道，如果要辩无罪，要在指定出庭时间出庭，
或其两个工作日之前到法庭改时间。于是我提前几天去了法庭。经过安
全检查到窗口见clerk, 问能不能给Deferred Adjudication,打的主意是
给就认罪，不给就不认。回答是要上法庭，由prosecutor决定。我说指
定的日子我来不了，能不能改日。回答是可以，查了一回儿，给了我两

可以開始找工作, 最近都拿了好幾家的ONSITE, 有大的有小的, 感覺距離OFFER應該很
近了.
這幾家的HR或者MANAGER問我的working status, 我只說EAD跟它的有效期, 當他們問什
麼類型的EAD時, 我就說不是OPT的EAD, i got it independently and there is no
need for employer's sponsorship at this moment and in the future. 估計奧巴這
4年內都不會除消Deferred action所以樂觀估計EAD應該可以一直用到2018年(renew 2
次, 每次2年).
如果拿了OFFER, 它們會知道我的身份嗎? 小公司的MANAGER跟HR很近, 估計如果HR知道
了所有人也知道, this makes me very uncomfortable. 大公司的話(比如說BB, 高盛)
, MANAGER應該不會過問這些東西.

二次入关，没想到。。。
父母以前来美多次，每次都按时回去，想问一下，这种情况找cbp deferred
inspection，有用吗？如果被拒，会让他们立刻回国吗？我想去试一试，但如果有这样
的副作用，那就让他们按时回去吧。

postdoc offer。我们领域的情况是如果有TT 也有postdoc，一般都会把TT job defer
一年，先去postdoc，因为这样可以多一点研究时间出publication（因为postdoc 不用
教书，也没有其他任务，就是独立做自己的研究）。 我也是要这么做。具体有两个方

1，A 校的TT job 从2010年开始，这样想必只能用OPT 先去B 校做postdoc，对吗？A校

2，A 校的工作从今年（2009）开始，但是让他们给我一年的unpaid leave，然后这一

My home should close on Monday (2 days later).
But I found two little repairs are not done properly.
(1) paint door top and door bottom?
(2) secure the timer box for sprinkler system.
Shall I close on time monday morning and let the seller fix it before I get
the key?
Or shall I defer my closing date?
If I close on monday, and if anything happened to the people who do these
two repairs, I guess my insurance should take care of them?
Any suggestions?
