如果是通过学校申请的钱，不会去坐牢。我知道有的是同一个proposal到好几个
federal agents那里搞到了钱。最后也就是被agents禁止两年内申请funding.
开公司拿钱比较trick一些。这个penn state教授就被判了3年。
