比如霍金就曾说川普是a demagogue who seems to appeal to the lowest common denominator(“最小公分母”也指“低俗受众”、“平庸群体”,demagogue就是靠煽动民意获利的政客)。
还说:“Trump bad man. Real bad man.”
共有知识是说每个人都知道的信息;

The Parting of the Clouds
In every literary, historical or cinematic masterpiece, times must grow
darkest before the sunrise and deliverance. Tolkien worked that classical
theme to great effect. A sense of fatalism overtook a seemingly doomed
Gondor — right before the overthrow of Barad-dûr and the dawn of a new
age of men. The historian Herodotus, in literary fashion, also brilliantly

President Obama comes to Athens partly to talk about democracy in the place
in which it was born. There's a lot for him to consider.
In Ancient Greece, not far from the Acropolis, populist speakers used to
rouse crowds with the promise of action against the state's enemies. Those
speakers were known as demagogues. You have to wonder whether or not that
will remind the president of the man who will succeed him.

成single issue voters, the issue being China。
focus在moral issue上,印度的Muslims就是因为vote as a block而在政治上拥有远超

Our nation is being strangled with inconceivable, unconscionable, and
massive amounts of debt. Unrestrained political correctness runs amok among
us. Our Congressmen and women are buying and bribing reelection through out
of control “earmark” spending only to satisfy the pleasure and greed of
their local supporters. At the same time they are crafting for themselves
retirement plans that make them instant lifetime millionaires and exempting
themselves from a health care plan they are force feedin...

The Obama administration wants to "pivot" to jobs. A bit late, I would say.
They wasted a year pushing health care reform. That passed with zero
Republican votes in the House and Senate, and about the same number of
Republican ideas. When the Democrats controlled both branches of Congress
and the White House, they shoved their approach down the throats of
Republican in Congress, and an American public that opposed it then, and
still opposes the legislation by a 3-to-2 margi...

What would happen if a black man armed with a handgun confronted "suspicious
persons" in his neighborhood? What would happen if the "suspicious persons"
were unarmed white teens, one of them was shot dead, and the shooter
claimed self-defense?
This is not an exercise in mere speculation. We know what would happen in
such a case. There would be no white mobs in the street chanting "No justice
, no peace!" There would be no whites holding a "million hoodie march" in
New York Cit...

By Steve McCann
Throughout the history of the United States, whenever the dark clouds of
apprehension, fear, and adversity cast a long shadow over the nation, a
leader has emerged to successfully guide America into even greater
prosperity and achievement. Men such as George Washington, Abraham Lincoln,
and Ronald Reagan understood that among the many duties of the president of
the United States, the most important was to instill faith and an unbridled
confidence -- not only in their leadership ...

Sometimes societies find themselves in pernicious cycles in which the
perceived medicine seems worse than the known disease. The Roman satirist
Juvenal lamented the ill effects of free food and free entertainment for the
masses (“bread and circuses”) in part because he knew there was no remedy
for the pathology in sight — and thus only a slow decline toward fiscal
insolvency or riots were on the horizon. Any Roman emperor bold enough to
rein in the Praetorian Guard, charge...

The recently discovered tape on which Barack Obama said back in 1998 that he
believes in redistribution is not really news. He said the same thing to
Joe the Plumber four years ago.
But the tape's surfacing may serve a useful purpose if it gets people to
thinking about the consequences of redistribution.
Those who talk glibly about redistribution often act as if people are just
inert objects that can be placed here and there, like pieces on a chess
board, to carry out some grand...

The annotated Obama: How 90% of the deficit becomes somebody else's fault.
A question raised by President Obama's immortal line on CBS's "60 Minutes"
on Sunday—"I think that, you know, as President, I bear responsibility for
everything, to some degree"—is what that degree really is. Maybe 70% or 80%
of the buck stops with him? Or is it halfsies?
Nope. Now we know: It turns out the figure is 10%. The other 90% is somebody
else's fault.
This revelation came when Steve Kroft mentioned that the nati...

Romney, Obama, And Biden: The Good, The Bad And The Ugly
By Dick Morris
Vice president Joe Biden showed last night that he is not qualified to be a
heartbeat away from the presidency. There was no dignity, circumspection,
courtesy, civility, or presidentiality in his performance in the debate with
GOP contender Congressman Paul Ryan.
Biden came over as a windbag and a demagogue. His constant interruptions,
his phony and appropriate laughter and his grimace of a smile framed his
bombast and looke...
