position will be staff engineer, not sr eng yet. So I amworrying
Career growth in mwd. Not sure how soon promotion will be. Plus salary will
be reduced by 3w initially. But mwd has lots of benefit private firm can not

我了解的只有我们学校(U of Chicago)的情况:
我们有一个Social Science Administration(SSA)招社工,可能是
你最对口的专业.只要你有一定的社工实践经验,比如在学校期间的
社会调研,社团组织和运作经验,都可以申请这个SSA. 它有硕士和
博士两个program,硕士招人比较多,但一般没有奖学金.博士招人少,
但一般都有奖学金.
另外,我们有一个叫Master of Arts (MAPS)的program,招人也非常
多.基本1-2年学完,学的课程主要是social science(政治学,经济学,
社会学,历史学,人类学,公共管理)方面.可以结合自己的爱好选择课
程,拿的是硕士文凭.基本没有奖学金,但是相对于纯社会学,政治学或
者经济学等专业,比较容易申请一些.而且,过来之后如果有兴趣继续
念下去,也可以转成这些专业的博士program.
最后,还有一个Public Policy (Harris School) 方向可能你也有兴趣.
