week of vacation time that I could use to climb but nobody to climb with, so
I got this crazy idea of solo climbing all 14ers in Elk range in Colorado.
Day 1: Castle
An easy peak and a good warm up hike for me so I could get a chance to
acclimatize. Met someone on the summit who told me he did Maroon Group grand
slam (Maroon Bell traverse + Pyramid) under 8 hours last year. Amazing.

two very important items. One of the two might/could have been
detrimental. I left home without suntan lotion and went to the
starting line without salt packets. The salt from McD was left in the
car. In retrospect, I still had time to get back to the car, but
decided against it. Instead took a spot closest to the starting line,
or toeing the line sort of speak.

faster in recovering from cold, there are many stories. back in Sept, i
recovered from a cold in 3 days to run a HM race much better than I had
anticipated (see my blog).
more than the cold, it's the prerace jittery you'll need to manage. many of
us get nervous about every little thing we think may derail us from the race
we have prepared for so long, to the degree that we drive ourselves (and
our family) nuts.

先去店里试试车，最好不要去performance bicycle这样的店。而是去店员比较有专业
知识的店，在店里试试车，找到合适自己的frame size。一般来说，这种店里的店员还
会仔细地问你的riding style/preference，并根据这些调整你的把手啊，座椅啊，什
么的。然后呢，你可以决定是不是在这个店里买。在店里买就简单了。
不在店里买的话，那就记下frame size各类参数。然后可以在网上寻摸寻摸，也可以在
local craiglist上找找二手的。重点是看frame size是不是合适，derailer的配置够
不够你的要求。craiglist上有时能找到很好的deal。
买到车以后，可以自己调整一下座椅把手，然后骑个十来次，几百迈，对骑这个车有点
感受了再去专门的店里做bike fitting。当然，舍得花钱的话也可以买来就去bike
fitting。 |

我不知Jerry对poker的态度在article里面怎样.
不过我和他玩过多次.他对poker的态度非常认真.他想跟high stakes regulars玩是因
为他认为自己是高手,可以打败别的高手的高手.输的时候他会很生气.几乎每个礼拜或

被采访的往往英文很不错，这其实已经对被采访的人进行了采样。
你注意到的是一个他们常用的手段，就是表面正反方都采访，实际正反方给的时间不一
样，主持问的问题也倾向性很明显。
还有就是措辞，常常正话反说，反话正说，例如NPR从来不会说obama和obamacare的任

术，什么超薄显示器，激光投影的汽车挡风玻璃，手动传感游戏，结果是破车启动仍然
依靠人推，街道破败一百年不变，垃圾与街头涂鸦状况不像未来倒像二战中的德国。难
道我们的未来世界就是那个样子吗？难道出了科技进步就没有任何基础设施的进步了吗
？那些先进家具设备公司都破产了？
OK，对画面的牢骚发完了，再说说这个片子的两个极端：技术与情节。
技术上，在废墟大楼前的政府与恐怖分子交火，一个超长镜头实在是令人鼓掌叫好
！Clive Owen的角色有点象前期的《脱轨》（Derailed）一片，都是颓废中孕育着爆发
的类型，尤其是在老友Jasper遇害之后的树边恸哭，真是令人感同身受。Julianne
Moore比较之下就差了，不过我对这位女演员的评价一直不高，自从The Hour之后她就
烂片不断，再没接过有力量的好角色了。
情节上，尽管我还没来得及读《1984》，但反乌托邦的科幻小说也看了两本，对这
个哲学体系与表现方式并不陌生。这部电影给我的 |
