在中国，vengence被给与太大分量，所谓杀人必须偿命，
其实，处决一个罪犯这么容易，不用经过这么慎重耗时的法律程序，恰恰说明中国人对
性命不那么看重
同样的思维会导致一个人在将要杀人的时候也可能不会想那么多，想想自己将来“杀头
不过碗大个疤”
deterrence大概是国际上号召废除死刑的出发点，因为死刑不见得比无期的deterrence
大到哪里去
我觉得中国法律根据“影响恶劣”来判案，主观因素占主导，基本还是人治和衙门，忽
紧忽松，
碰到严打就倒霉了，杀一儆百，然后睁眼闭眼一阵子，
或者药家鑫这样的更是撞枪口上了，全国的暴民喊杀，被忽悠的中下层民众把仇富仇官
都来拿药家鑫当出气口，所以杀了以泄民愤 |

我说，我并不觉得很奇怪，因为我也指导过研究中国军力增长，但出发点在于美国如何

好象犯了罪一样，上网要不骂毛泽东都不好意思发贴。当然，在一个左右分化的世界上

for Disease Control—CDC）进行一项有关美国枪支暴力和犯罪的研究（“Priorities
For Research to Reduce the Threat of Firearm-Related Violence”），同时拨款
1千万美元。当时媒体一片欢呼，认为是控枪进程的一个里程碑。研究报告发布以后，
政府和媒体全部沉默，没有人再提，这个耗费巨资写成的报告被束之高阁。为什么？因
为研究的结果和奥巴马以及媒体预料的完全相反。这个报告在拉斯维加斯枪案后被人找
了出来，我把研究总结翻译成中文给大家看看。总结的英文原文附在中文之后。
我认为这个CDC的研究数据是准确的，结论是公正的，尤其是在当时控枪呼声很高，从
民间到总统都支持控枪。 CDC能够给出这个研究结论体现了研究结果的公正。

不在于不怕死就不杀。
杀死有几大好处：
1. 如果不杀对付这些人有生之年的所有资源可以重新利用来防范新的事件
2. 对于社会公正是个交代。
3. 对于其它想着复制的潜在杀手是deterrence 。
如果deterrence不强可以增加，比如禁止祭奠这种死人。因为是污名。 |

拥抱美国文化而非其政策》 ，指出中国年轻人普遍喜欢美国电影,体育，餐饮，向往美
国生活方式，但在国际关系议题上却支持中国政府的观点，对美国政府的意图持不信任
态度， 相信美国试图遏制中国。一些海外华人读者，把这种分裂解读为被“洗脑”的
结果。
其实，这种文化观和政治态度分裂的现象并非中国独有。笔者更倾向于把这种现

abolish death penalty, well let them bankrupt the state then, they are only
prolonging the inevitable anyway. Death penalty may not be a big deterrence,
nevertheless it is still some form of deterrence without which, there is
not even a remote chanc of justice for the victims' families.

I agree with the mentioned shotgun, pistol, and dog.
From what I have learned, a sounded home defense setup should have 4D layers
in following order: Deterrent, Detect, Delay, and the last Defense.
Deterrent: well lighted and visible around the house, sign of security/
surveillance system, and secured entries.
Detect: the best a barking dog can alarm you when the stranger is
approaching, burglar/security alarm, and monitored video surveillance.

or other punishment (or you can view getting rid of 海马体 is a punishment).
