also propose a bond to facilitate technology and facility improvement of the
schools.
San Dieguito School district has a good website talking about the bond they
are proposing.

Both measures would apprea in the November ballet. So tax payers do have a
say on whether to approve the issuing of these bonds. |

有这事吗？ 还是纯属谣传？
不过我觉得自己孩子上上ucsd或者usd就差不多了。 没必要太辛苦去爬藤。
离家近点， 能照顾到， 将来在本地工作， 一家人在一起， 比出人头地
还要强啊。。。

发帖数: 5637 | 13 CCA是San Dieguito School District的。CV很奇怪，由三个学区覆盖。小学有两个学
区，北面的是Solana Beach School District,南面的是Del Mar Union School
District。初高中则是San Dieguito School District的。
Solana的学区是K-Grade 4在小学上，G5-6在Solana Pacific School上。Del Mar（
DMUSD)的学区是K-6都在小学上。这两个学区的孩子都上CV Middle School或Earl
Warren Middel School。高中孩子可以选择上Torrey Pine HS或CCA.
在同一个学校的孩子，家里的家境一般不会相差不太多。所以用经济原因来解释为什么
亚裔捐款率低是不太完全的。 |

以前跟大家讲过，因为加州经济不好，学区请家长捐钱来补贴教育。今年的筹款
deadline是本月底，如果筹不到足够的钱的话，学区就会再减掉四个老师。刚才听到一
个老美跟我讲，他们学校里有些亚裔告诉他，"It is our belief in my community
that we did not give money to the public schools". 好像这些亚裔就是要占别人
的便宜，take free ride一样。我听了很吃惊也觉得很被羞辱。那些人自己不愿意捐就
好了，把整个亚裔拿出来说事干什么？我自己觉得咱亚裔家长还是挺支持的吧。我们许
多双职工的家长要上班，时间上投入不了，金钱上还是大方的吧？

other schools in Carmel Valley belong to the Del Mar Union School District.
DM's 7-8th graders go to Earl WarrenMiddle School, then can choose to
attend Torrey Pine HS or CCA when they are in HS like the other students in
the San Dieguito School District .
Interestingly, there is a large government sponsored housing outside of Del
Mar Hills School, so the low income rate in that school is actually higher

In this August, CAST-SD and UCSD-CSSA will host a picnic for all Chinese
People in San Diego. The picnic time is 12pm on Aug. 30th and the location
is San Dieguito County Park (Area 2) in Del Mar area. BBQ, fruits and soft
drinks will be provided and we will organize some interesting outdoor
activities like basketball, volleyball, etc. There are also some children
playground and hiking trails for fun.

Poway学区有GATED program，但是不分出特别班来(no homogeneous class, just
differentiated program within the class.)
SD Unifed有分出来的seminar program，但最近经费可能会有影响。 |

main feeder schools to SMHS are from San Elijo Hills and Rach Carrio which
are really mid-upper class families and relative new residential community.
And to be honest, City of San Marcos and San Marcos School District have
been doing great jobs compared with other north county cities, like Carlsbad
/Encinitas. Btw, the high schools in these 3 cities (La Costa Canyon,
