season during a three-day opening at Twin Harbors, running Friday through
Sunday of Memorial Day weekend.
The morning dig scheduled May 24-26 got the green light from the Washington
Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) after marine toxin tests showed the
clams at Twin Harbors are safe to eat.
All other ocean beaches will remain closed to clam digging, and digging at
Twin Harbors must end each day at noon.

To go clamming, you first have to purchase a sportfishing license (a one-
day visotor’s license is $10, and a seven-day license is $30). The daily bag
limit is 60 clams. While the clamming’s good from April to August, the best
time is July, right before spawning. And though you can dig for clams anytime |
