哪位在国内爬得多的来证实或者证伪一下。
我最怕overhang的了，最喜欢dihedral的。可能是我平衡较差，而dihedral
平衡起来最容易吧。 |

seeing.
Climbed the Morning Glory wall, Smith Rock. Led a 5.8 and followed a 5.9 and
a 5.10a. Nice warm up
7.19 Dihedral & Phoenix Buttress, Smith Rock. The rock was very sharp at the
Phoenix Buttress. Painful even without falling! Did seven 5.9-5.10d
routes this day. Too hot to climb during the mid-day.
7.20 John Day Fossil Bed
7.21 am: did a 5-pitch sport 5.9 at the Smith Rock Group, of which I led
three pitches. This is d |

发帖数: 180 | 5 supposedly the 2nd 5.8 is right above the finger crack according to the
guidebook. But it feels more like a 5.7. The rest is 5.easy or 4th class
like you said.
the dihedral is about 15 ft left of the finger crack. there is a double
crack systme about 5 to 6 ft right to the finger crack and is supposed to be
a bit easier. I did find the flare finger crack a bit sandbagged.
Most people won't do it this way. It is a rather personal and rational
choice.

发帖数: 809 | 8 Birthday climb :-) 五月底去的那次遗憾很多，一直想再去一次。之前在家连着霉了
一个多月，眼看着日头越来越短，估摸着再不爬今年就没机会了。星期一是个好天，抓
了一个很猛的韩国小mm一起爬。
7点半往右从停车场出发的，approach轻车熟路，很快到了climb base。之前说好前10
个pictch，我lead奇数，Shine lead偶数，最后一个pitch留给Shine。开始爬的时候有
日光了，不过太阳还没出来，手指冻得哆哆嗦嗦的。第一个pitch很简单，不过bolt也
很少，好像只有4个，颇浪费了一点时间在找bolt/route上。第三个pitch开始是个
dihedral，两三个clip之后跨到右面的墙上，那个step对我有点高，折腾了一会。回来
查了一下，居然只有5.7+，郁闷。第四个pitch的rope drag相当大，Shine用对讲机让
我给slack，说她像pull a bus，我说我这头已经给太多了，rope drag，您忍忍吧...
后来上去clean，看她大部分已经用的是single runner的draw，而且后半程基本隔一个

发帖数: 379 | 13 星期六早上五点出发，七点到Leavenworth的加油站集合，一起开车到6.1 miles的
trailhead。Leader开了辆BMW的敞篷跑车，有个性。Trailhead那新盖了个小房子，马
路对面有片新开的停车场，以后再找不到营地可以考虑去那里蹭过夜。过了桥之后右转
，挨着就是个三叉路口，沿着中间那个走几步，马上右边就是上山的trail。似乎是在
修路，几条大路中间都停着施工车，把路给堵上了，倒是不容易走错。在停车场抬头就
能看到Yellowjacket Tower了，看着倒不是很远，尖尖的一个山峰。刚开始的那段
trail比较平，两侧鲜花盛开，最多的就是一串串紫色的小花，都开满了。很快路就陡
了起来，大概1 mile上升1500 ft，不过路况非常好，都是很结实的土路，个别地方要
翻个树枝、爬点石头什么的。好几个地方都看到了mountain goat，不过也许是同一只。
我一直以为mountain goat和Ibex是同一种生物、生活在不同的大陆，就跟白种人、黄
种人一样，不过leader一定说他们是两种不同的羊，好吧…

发帖数: 2636 | 14 刚从EPC回来。EPC的信息这个网站上很全，不过有些信息有点过时

安全：EPC还是很安全的。过去几年里由于贩毒分子作乱，EPC攀岩的人少了很多，但最
近治安好些了以后今年冬天人数又反弹回几年前的规模了。Monterrey街上有很多拿
machine gun的警察，尤其是天黑以后到处警灯闪耀，还是不要随便乱跑。听开车从美
国来EPC的人说，路上有人会偷你的车牌，然后要给钱才还给你。从Monterrey到
Hidalgo有bus，但没有bus到EPC，下了bus以后要走50分钟的上坡路。Taxi走toll road
的话只需要45分钟。不要从机场或者bus station临时叫出租车，司机一般不会说英文
或者找不到地方。所以比较安全的选择是飞到Monterrey，然后请Magic Ed http://magicedspotrerochico.com/来接。一般camp ground和house rental都提供接机服务。我们坐的是Magic Ed的车，他在EPC呆了20多年了，bolt了很多经典的路线。听老头讲八卦还是很有趣的。

最近在写一个proposal，study DNA structure。是我们的qualify exam。
老板让我研究一个DNA sequence 的structure
我们用NMR得到distance constraints and dihedral angle constraints。
然后用XPLOR-NIH去calculate the structure
可是我从来没用过XPLOR，我试着读manul啥的，看不懂啊
有没有牛人给解释一下大概的原理，我知道的就是用molecular dynamics 去
minimize energy
但是怎么工作的啊，如果有大牛能指点一下，不胜感激啊。。。 |
