The most important factor is Congressman John Dingell from Dearbonr,
Michigan, he was the chair of the congressional committee in charge of
Energy Policy (related to vehicle mpg, superconductor, advanced railway,
nuclear fuel, etc), without his cooperation, anything (posing a threat to an
auto industry) will NOT move at all.
Also in Texas in the late 80's, the high speed railway plan was
aborted due to insurmountable opposition from Southwest Airlines.

今天的故事先从美国众议院能源及商业委员会主席约翰•丁革尔（John Dingell）讲起。82岁的丁革尔可是政坛长青树：他在众议院已经任职52年，而现在的记录，众议员是53年，参众两院合计是56年。丁革尔已经表示今年11月将竞选连任，如果成功，明年将成为任职时间最长的联邦众议员。丁革尔在克林顿第一任任内，大力支持全民保健计划，08年民主党初选，他支持希拉里也是顺理成章。
约翰•丁革尔在科学界出名，是巴尔的摩（Baltimore）案。他对巴尔的摩的一篇怀疑造假的论文穷追不舍，最终导致巴尔的摩辞去洛克菲勒大学校长职务。
本文马上讲述的是另外一个丁革尔参与的案子：斯坦福高估经费案。
1991年，美国海军主管研究部门一个公务员揭发斯坦福大学在完成海军的研究课题时报假帐，以各种名目多拿了政府两亿美金，此后不少于四个政府部门对斯坦福接受的政府项目进行审计和调查。在国会山，丁革尔主持听证，斯坦福大学和其他常春藤大学大学从研究基金中提成比例一时在华盛顿闹得沸沸扬扬。当时斯坦福大学额外开销的提成比例是74%，即教授从政府那里拿到一百万美金的项 |

真是能颠倒黑白。当年如果不是民主党反对，现在留学
生硕博毕业工作，立马就拿绿卡了。还用扯什么排期呀h1呀.
只是不知道共和党这次上台，能不能重提并通过当年那个法案。估计也悬。

五六月份白鲈洄游产卵，形成鱼汛。据今天密西根的鱼情周报介绍，现在底特律河已经
是白鲈的天下，沿岸都是钓鱼的好去处。公园的环境好一些，比如Belle Isle Park，
Riverside Park，John Dingell Park，Bishop Park，Meyer Ellias Park，Rotary
Park，Elizabeth Park，Lake Erie Metropark等。其中Elizabeth Park位于底特律河
口处（W Jefferson Ave, Trenton, MI 48183），附近有鱼具店。
特别提醒大家遵守钓鱼法规，注意安全。钓鱼之前浏览一下2013 Michigan Fishing
Guide（http://www.michigan.gov/dnr/0,4570,7-153-10364_63235-274824--,00.html），现在对钓白鲈数目的限制为每天25条。17岁以上需要购买钓鱼执照，Walmart、Meijer等处有售。

Bishop Park， 没有鱼饵店 地方小一点，水下石头少。
John Dingell Park，有鱼饵店， 没在那里钓过。
我个人比较喜欢River Side Park， 水下石头少，地方大，人也多。 老黑，老莫，老
中，成群结队。没有鱼饵店， 也不好停车。
GM 复兴大楼附近有个Park，环境很好，停车方便，离Jefferson Bait 很近。只是听说
鱼还在下游。Elizabeth 和 Bishop Park 应该是较好的选折。 |

jobs and bad economic downturn, isn't it?
i found this surprising since i have not been aware of the following, also
from this article:

1. Expensive drugs， too much to afford, especially for those who has no
insurance. So there is a market for ppl who would like to purchase cheap
alternatives from overseas, even with some risks there.
2. Cheap Drugs, who is going to make it in the U.S? No profit at all. Vit
B12 1 mg for IM is always out of stock. Drug companys like to make brand
name sublingual or nasal spray.

I am not aware of any drugs imported from China. I am aware there are always
some drugs in nationwide shortage. I assume if it could be produced
overseas, there would not be any problems.
