中国公民刘晓波获得2010年度诺贝尔和平奖，这一消息在国内和国际引起极大的反响，
它是中国当代一个重大的历史事件，它也为中国和平地实现社会转型、向民主宪政迈进
提供了新的契机。本着对历史负责、对中国的命运前途负责的精神，我们特发表声明如
下。
一、诺贝尔和平奖委员会把本年度的奖项颁发给刘晓波，这一决定符合该奖项的宗旨和
评审标准。在当代社会，和平与人权密不可分，对生命的剥夺与践踏不仅发生在战场上
，也发生在一国之内的暴政与恶法实践中。国际舆论的普遍赞扬证明，将今年的和平奖
授予中国人权运动的代表人物，是一个及时和正确的决定。
二、刘晓波是诺贝尔和平奖的恰当人选，他坚持以非暴力手段维护人权，以理性的态度
抗议社会不公正；他以坚韧的态度争取实现民主宪政目标，而在身受迫害时摒弃仇恨心
理，这一切使他无庸置疑地拥有获奖资格。刘晓波的理念和实践也为中国人在解决政治
、社会冲突中的行为方式提供了典范。

自有良心的媒体和学术界人士深入开展揭批学霸、学奸、学贼汪晖的工作以来，成绩突
出，形势喜人。到了今天，可以说汪氏的问题已经无所逃罪天下，可以立刻盖棺论定，
直接开除出学界了。笔者生性愚钝，见事不明，不仅未能参与到这个伟大的运动中去，
最初还一再为汪某辩护，是非颠倒，黑白不分，如今思之，惭恨不已。如今总算如梦初
醒，回头是岸，想要为打汪晖运动出一把力，但揭批汪晖的，从林毓生这样的老牌名宿
，到王彬彬等中坚学者，以及vivo等青年才俊不计其数，宏文妙笔如漫天星斗，又如黄
河泛滥，一发而不可收拾。多笔者一个不多，少笔者一个不少。好在一个汪晖倒下去，
千百个汪晖站起来。像汪晖这样隐藏得很深的伪学者名流还是很多的。在打倒汪晖后，
深入揭批学界问题已经成为刻不容缓的急务，笔者愿为此略尽绵薄之力。今天要谈的就

中国为什么会成功？这是复旦大学政治学教授、中国发展模式研究中心主任张维为多年
来努力试图阐明的一个问题，既是向中国人自己，更是向国际社会。
昨天（6月12日），《纽约时报》刊登对张维为教授的采访，张教授指出：西方不少媒
体和批评人士对中国社会实际状况的歪曲，让他想起了1793年英国使者马嘎尔尼访问中
国的情景。在那时，清朝的乾隆皇帝在异国使节面前摆出一副傲慢的姿态，展现着中国
版的“历史终结”论。如今，西方民主“历史终结”论甚嚣尘上，事情难道正在发生反
转？这一命运似乎降临到了西方头上：西方正在变成傲慢的“乾隆”？
张维为教授认为，对这种傲慢，最好的回应方式就是讲好中国故事，形成新的“中国话
语”，造就新的“中国叙事”。

His father was the late former Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau, who
was also fluent in both English and French.
Most of the audience is bilingual, too, who understand his speech in both
