说到底，数学家是靠从地基开始一步一步砌上去的，当然需要先考虑理想简单的情况，
然后再考虑复杂的情况，如果了解纯数学和物理领域里的研究的话应该能看出来这些趋
势。。。
生物领域里面是，从顶上开始分解系统，然后不断靠实验去了解这个黑盒子，所以才会
钻到细节里面去，比如要去验证各种可能的例外。。。
准确的说两种方式都需要。。。但是从生物学研究的历史上来看，从个体到组织到细胞
到亚细胞到分子到原子层面 已经 被disect得差不多了，确实有很多东西未知。。。
但是！其中的一个rough framework 已经有了（central dogma + molecular
interaction network---这是目前人们对于生物系统的认识水平），所以才会emerge出
来一个问题，这个系统如何collectively work，所以才会有很多人去想办法 定量，去
找更动态的数据 去找resolution更高的实验手段，去找能把不同scales整合起来的手
段。。。
但是至少这个方向是对的，尽管出现了很多手段和技术并不一定是万金油，很多研究者

rarely see cardiac MRI though,
low potassium has something to do with arrythmia, but depends on how low
your potassium was,
as of chest pain, there are multiple factors when your doctor is considering
you case, from history, family history, ECG and labs, but even all those
you could still miss something serious,
to my understanding, when you presented to ER with chest pain, they will try
to rule out the 5 urgent condtions, including aortic disection, esophageal
rupture, pneumothorax, pulmonary |

i don't think anybody could really help through internet without able to
exam you in detail,
the only neck pain that could be potentially serious that i could think of
is carotid disection but you didn't mention anything else that lead to that
diagnosis,
maybe you need to get a CT of the neck and also an ENT evaluation with a
laryngeal scope or something like that, |

if the breast cancer was on the left side and she had lymph node disection
on the left side, that's probably an easier explanation, |

when you get lymph node disection on that side the lymph drainage would be
compromized so that arm would be more swollen than the other side,
the other thing you want to rule out is something simple like upper
extremity deep venous thrombosis, |

- do some homework on record your rounds. spend sometime and rewind your
rounds. there are tons of tools now to help you analysis your game. you can
disect and your results, and give yourself very good feedbacks.
I used to be afraid of using 6 and 5 irons, and the data shows that too.
After identifing that problem, I have few sessions to target that. Now my
game is much more complete. |

不是说你哈。但是有很多生物研究都是这样，拿了一堆数据，然后问我下面能做些啥？
能做些cool实验？
no，这些人的思考方式完全错了，这样是做不出有意义的结果的。
生物学是hypothesis driven的。也就是说，要先有个具体的问题，然后去研究用什么
数据可以证明或者反驳这个hypothesis。然后找具体用什么方法可以获得这些数据。
你检测某个protein在“检测某个protein在癌组织和癌旁组织中的表达”的目的是什么
？你的生物学问题是什么？你为什么要检测这个protein？为什么要检测跟这些因素的
相关性？现在检测到了相关性说明什么？你还需要什么数据才能达到你的目的？
比如说，你要证明这个protein在肿瘤的发生发展的某个方面有重要意义。那么现在你
需要集中证明这个protein对比如说survival有因果关系。
那么你可以首先disect你的数据。比如这个protein跟肿瘤的metastasis是否相关，跟
肿瘤的生长速度（比如ki-67）staining是否相关，等等。

this is exactly the problem.
for non-law undergrad majors, this skill has to be acquired during 1L. the
problem is that US schools don't teach jack on analyzing skills, if you can't
figure it out by the end of 1L, you are screwed in the grades game. most
professors can't even explain what "analyzing skill" means. they never teach
you how to disect a fact pattern, how to select the right tools, and how to
look between the words for possible arguments like r |

了就算了。
举个小例子。外院转来个病人，头疼，腰穿怀疑是SAH，CT head啥都没有，做了
cereberal angiogram，发现一侧vertebral artery disecting aneurysm。
看外院的angiogram，那个aneurysm离PICA挺近(想想wallenberg)，intervention
neuroradiologist有点不太想做coiling。病人这两天觉得头疼变好了，不如送回家观
察算了?
结果病人第二天早上说后背疼.attending的hypothesis是因为血向下流，所以头疼好了
，该成后背疼。重复腰穿还是继续出血。于是决定做coiling。可是aneurysm填上了，
病人整成了wallenberg怎么办？他们让病人在清醒的状态下做angiogram，用ballon做
测试，就在cath lab做neuro exam，确认没有问题后做的coiling。那个手术从早上一
直做到了下午.
像那个fellow查房的时候，拿着病例问我，从诊断，pathophy |

as far as physio, it's not required by our school since we had two quareters
of human physio in P1.
it wasn't very strict when i was taking classes in CC (as long as u pay,hehe
) but i heard it's getting tougher now. so u may wanna check w/ the CC
close to u to get more specific info.
one more hint, i didn't take econ here, b/c my school accepted my 政治经济学
. so i guess that's a doable thing. good luck! |
