春节为什么要大吃大喝？
即便是在物质匮乏的年代，人们在过年时，也会准备丰盛的菜肴，大吃大喝一番。如今，人们生活水平逐步提高，三十的团圆饭也总要比平时更丰盛一点点才满意。
过年的花费是惊人的。且不说请客送礼、迎来送往、单是春节期间放鞭炮、烟火烧掉的钱就很多。有数据显示，中国是全球烟花爆竹最大的生产国和出口国，我国每年烟花爆竹年产值超过200亿元人民币，其中出口额仅6亿美元。
从纯经济的角度看，这似乎有点不必要、不合理。春节为什么要大吃大喝呢？如果将过年花费的钱平摊开来用于平时，不是更好吗？
法国哲学家巴塔耶认为，人之所以为人，就在于他既有生产物品、占有自然的冲动，又有“消尽”自我，回归自然的一面。对于中国普通百姓来说，春节正是这样一个“消尽”的时刻。
