发帖数: 212 | 2 ８０年下半年出生，滥校Ph.D.在读（同时还拿了一个计算机硕士），临近毕业，生物仪器
方向。Ph.D. 其间比较努力，有一些paper（＜７）和patent（２）.老婆自费会计毕业
，小公司工作，<40k /year。我和老婆都是独生子女，目前无子女。老婆父母５０出头
，我父母５５＋，国内都在工作．不需要经济支持．长远打算是，如果在美国，就把他
们接过来．或者以后在香港找找falcuty,也会离家很近．以工程fresh ph.d 海龟不会有很
好的位置．
一直想去工业界，但是我们这个领域机会不多，一年不超过5个。fresh Ph.D. 薪水大
概75K-90K，但是绿卡公司会压很久才申请。工业界的offer去年拿了两个（一个78K 一
个82k），但是因为地点，毕业时机，绿卡政策的原因，我没有去。现在手头没有任何
offer．
现在又到了选择的关键时候：
（１）在等一等去工业界，如果找到，工资应该不会差．然后慢慢等绿卡．走一步看一
步．但是很担心以后成老工程师．
（２）博一博，可以花２年半时间拿到一个Optometry Doctocr学位,可能需要100K的付
出．好处是以后收入就比较 |

For the former, look at all the younger generation from Asian. Most of them
are near-sighted. That means you will have plenty of customers in the
future.
For the later, that's a cash cow for a lot of companies. I am sure you will
find it profitable to be part of a big trend. |
