他在80年代世界上第一个克隆出绿色荧光蛋白这一生物界神器的基因。并且开展工作证
明这个神器可以在很多不同的细胞里工作。
然而他没有拿到科研经费继续深入研究，并且没有拿到恬妞。关于神器的工作，他交给
了他的同事继续。而他于是只好到研究所和NASA做临时工。左后NASA的项目也取消了，
他完全失业。在用完积蓄以后，去当机场接机大巴的司机。
十来年过去了，他当年的工作帮别人拿了炸药奖。
2011年出现了转机，炸药奖得主之一的钱永健邀请他到自己实验室当research
associate, 于是他又重回学术圈工作，很嗨森！
哪料命运再次不济，钱永健2016年骑单车摔死了，于是Douglas再次失业到现在。

Toren Finkel人不错，文章也很强，但NIH只能给J-1.
Douglas Green 人也不错，St Jude福利待遇很好，实验室也很强。
关键问题是想去他们实验室的人太多了，竞争很激烈。只要能进去当faculty的可能性
很大。
