The trick is: after you ruff the open lead DA and pull 4 rounds of trump, you
only have 1 trump in hand, which is your only entry. You must be careful with
the possible block in C, otherwise you could go down. Therefore, it is
IMPORTANT to throw dummy's D in your 4th trump. If not, when your opp wins the
3rd C with CQ and then return a D, you can only ruff and CT is still in dummy,
Your C9 will be "a bird in forrest", not in hand. |

to be the lesser of all evils. After north's raise, bidding again by S is
defefinitely wrong -- pd can have only 3 S support and your H holding becomes
highly questionable: long holding in opponent's suit is generally good asset
as dummy can overruff, but only in game, as you may have to lose a few trumps
if dummy has low trumps. In slam, you almost always need to set it up and your
holding is just unlikely to happen. |

I found somebody wrote a simply dds in c, very short, about 100 lines...
But the code is quite spegetti, he uses goto....
Another way is that I can use gib's double dummy solver, I don't have the
source code of it, but they do have a free double dummy program to download
I think. |

As for the play, according to the bid, I would play RHO hand as 1-1-6-5.
Win the first trick in hand and play SJ. If LHO does not cover with SQ,

HK and clear the last trump outside. One H finesse and H ruff will bring
the contract home. |

defense.
Nevertheless, discarding all diamonds is not the correct defense, Since I can
still pitch a diamond in dummy, and send out H J, win spade return, then
diamond to dummy's K to eventually have a double squeeze.
The right defense, I believe, after the club run, west should keep 3 hearts
1 spades, and 2 diamonds. Now another round of diamond back would destroy the
squeeze if declearer ducks another round of hearts. |

In the actual layout, dummy had 5 clubs and they were quite hopeless
after the C lead. I was expecting a S or D swith after CQ when I was at dummy,
then declarer need to play the A of S or D. draw two rounds of trumps and try to
set up C in that case. |

我的看法是：
这里庄家取得额外赢墩的办法无非是明手将吃和树立长套。
试图吊将阻止将吃，多半没有意义。因为这种防守针对的发布情
况是我方能出两次将牌，并且庄家至少有3张红心。从叫牌看，
这非常地不可能。
看来明手唯一能利用的长套是方块，因此也许有必要在庄家动方块
之前先攻掉明手的进张。进攻草花在庄家有草花K时是不会奏效的，
然而继续出红心却肯定可以攻掉一个进张。（根据第一墩的出牌，
我认为庄家还有一张比10大的红心）。

If club is 4-1, there are two major chances:
1) the opponent with singleton club has only 2 trumps.
2) one of the opponent holds diamonds Qxx.
Play D9 (which may induce cover of DQ). If DQ doesn't appear, win DA, cash
one spade, play DK, S to dummy, assume S 3-2, now ruff D high. If DQ doesn't
drop, you have to play clubs and hope for case (1).
This line fails if D7 was singleton, but that is a risk to be taken in order
to cater for case (2). |

now thrown in.

dummy's clubs with small trumps. W can only win one trump trick.
If E keeps cashing D, we could ruff/sluff.
The point is W could not ruff our H loser. |
