怎么 dvipdfm 的 conf 改名字了，hoho。
dvipdfmx 的一个大问题，就是连文档都没有。查无可查。如果有兴趣，不妨从 mi
ktex.ini 开始查起 （看 Dvipdfm(x?)那部分），按着路径捋吧，把沿途的 conf
和 font map 都检查一下，对照 dvipdfm -vv 的结果找。
对了，不如抄个别人的 conf 放在 dvipdfm/conf/ 下面 。。。 我怀疑你其实现在
装得是 dvipdfm，但是由于历史原因，搞乱了。我的 conf 文件如下，注意这个文
件的路径要和 miktex.ini 的设置一致。

problems.
dvipdfm uses gs as the distiller. |

Windows: from Start -> run... , type `cmd' to get the command window.
then, type `dvipdfm --version' to see if it has been installed (by default,
it should be part of MikTeX)
then cd to your folder (or copy your folder under C:\, which is much easier
and cd into it) type
dvipdfm yourfile.dvi
to see if you can get yourfile.pdf correctly.

那幅图。一个 dirty trick，你用 gsview 将那幅图打开并另存一下，希望
dvipdfm 能认出新图 |

eps figures at home PC(3.8M) and office PC(5M) has a big difference. Could
anybody explain why? Are there any information lost in the small file??
I use MiKTeX for both system. My office PC might have a slightly newer
version.

如果你最终的目标是生成PDF文件，那么有好几种方式：
1)PDFTex: Tex -> PDF
2)dvipdfm(x): Tex -> DVI -> PDF
3)dvips+ps2pdf: Tex -> EPS -> PDF
每种都调用不同的程序，这些程序应该在你的Tex 系统(比如MikTex)中已经有了，不用
再下载。在TexnicCenter里面应该可以增加更多的方式吧。 |

\texmf\dvipdfm\conf\
and the file name is `config'. use notepad to open it, and post the content
here.
BTW, you may also want to post the config file which is on your desktop and
compare them.

comment the line started with
D "mgs.exe ...
by adding % in front of D, then add the following line
D "mgs.exe -q -sPAPERSIZE=a0 -sDEVICE=pdfwrite -dCompatibilityLevel=1.3 -
dUseFlateCompression=true -dNOPAUSE -sOutputFile=\"%o\" \"%i\" -c quit"
before it. then delete yourfile.ps and yourfile.pdf, use
dvipdfm yourfile.dvi
again to see if it works or not. if not, delete the `-q', then re-try, and
post the error message :)

which calls the miktex ghostscript, mgs. what i am suggesting is using the
viewer of AFPL ghostscript to convert a figure to a certain format. are we
talking about the same thing? |

发帖数: 3102 | 15 yes, almost the same thing. the difference is that: ps or mps is used to
convert .ps or .eps to .pdf. if ps2pdf works, then the para setting for gs
in the script file (ps2pdfwr) can be used for setting the distiller in the
conf of dvipdfm. or you can use gs as the distiller directly in conf.
i guess in the default conf there are too many para, and one or two of them
conflict with other settings.
BTW, a quick way to test if it's mgs' problem is to replace gs with mgs in
ps2pdfwr and check if ps2p |

solves it. just for technical interest, i can summarize in this way: (i
suspect) his dvipdfm can not recognize the transmitter.eps file, because
there are so many formats ending at a .ps or .eps extention, and all the
software recognize only some. so i suggested him use gsview to convert the
transmitter.eps into transmitter.ps, which at least the AFPL gs can
recognize. and i hope that the miktex gs can also recognize it, |

我又copy了几个.pdf文件到E:\Work\Tex\Beamer\texmf\tex\latex\beamer.
现在emacs不要我安装beamer了.能生成.dvi文件.而且好像没有错误.
但是.dvi显示不对.
经过dvips时能生成.ps文件,但是ps2pdf是有unrecoverable error, 生成的.pdf也不全.
如果直接用dvipdfm, 产生的.pdf更不对,有一大堆ignore.
那该怎么把由beamer产生的.dvi转化成.pdf呢? |

总有一些问题，试来试去没有理想的方案。
thesis 是以前同学的template，不能改了，
如果是应用软件的问题，能否推荐 一个好一点的package.
具体 的问题。
1. 在.tex 文件中 使用 \usepackage[dvipdfm,bookmarks]{hyperref}
在fedora 下 latex *.tex 生成的 dvi文件 pagesize 正确，图也正确，问题是因为有
.png文件， 不能生成.ps 文件， 不能 打印。
在kdvi， export as pdf文件， pagesize 不对， pagemargin 不是大了就是小了，
手动设置pagesize也没有用。
用texniccenter，.ps file里面的png 图片没有颜色。
我现在的办法之能是生成dvi文件然后到windows 下用yap 打印。如何能既包括
pngfigures，又可以自由地生成pdf 和ps 文件？

PowerPoint 里面做Slides，然后打印成pdf，在Acrobat 里面截取想要的内容，再另存
为eps, 然后再包括到tex文件里面。这样编译和转dvi都没有问题，但是dvipdfm 就出
错。
Apc建议先dvips，然后我把生成的ps文件再转成pdf，目前这样works. |

1. 文章包含有dia生成的eps，argouml生成的eps，edraw画的流程图通过gimp转成的
eps
2. latex和dvi2ps编译得到ps文件。
3.1 ps2pdf或者dvipdfm得到的pdf结果显示dia和argouml的eps都很好，gimp过来的有
一点模糊，不过gimp本身看还是很清楚的。
3.2 用acrobat distiller得到的pdf发现gimp过来的eps效果非常清晰，本来丰富的图
形没有几个，当然想能显示清楚一点，这种情况下dia的也没问题，反而argouml的UML
图文字都错位了。
纠结啊，顾此失彼。 |

\includegraphics{xxx.pdf}
will be okay.
EPS cannot be directly inserted into TeX documents if you
use pdflatex.
you can also try dvipdfm, which can convert a DVI file to
a PDF file directly and process EPS figures automatically.
