Wiki is a good website. I still believe that an independent website in Chinese
worths the resources. There are some reasons. First, competition is usually g
ood. Second, an independent rather than a translation leads to more freedom.
I do expect an issue in establishing an economics rather than maths website. E
conomics is more related to personal judgement. Thus, there may be a lot of he
ated discussion about some entries. I hope this is a technical (maybe trivial)
issue.

I just explain why i think he could be called polisci-ist. North and Olson
are different. Their impacts in polisci largely come from polisci-ists'
application of their works. Their contributions to polisci are more like those
of Williamson (for his organizational economics), Hotelling (for his spatial
model) or Samuelson (for his internatoinal political economy). All these guys
are not directly involved in polisci, |

我的情况比较复杂,在Québec念得高中,École Polytechnique de Montréal读
了两年本科,转入现在的学校,本科所有数学课除了一个A-,其它全部A,经济,物理
的课有几个B。英语,法语都没有问题。对计量经济非常感兴趣,有UCLA summer
research的经验。但是我的硬伤也很多,三次GRE,分别740+690+5.5,700+760+5.5,
770+740+5,Quantitative分数比较低,而且我没有比较好的推荐。另外,我是加拿大
公民,有没有什么帮助(好似没有) |

个方向到底怎么样。之前只上过一些简单的课,对这个方向没有什么概念。
想请教一下这个方向的前景如何?就业呢?在美国的情况是什么样的啊?在国内高校做
这个的好像不是很多,不知道会不会太生僻.
再想问一下,这个老师已经60岁了,phd的导师年纪太大会不会对做学术有影响?一般
感觉跟中年导师做可能会比较有收获。
