联邦政府在70年代通过了INDIVIDUAL WITH DISABILITIES EDUCATION ACT (IDEA)
在法律上规定了只要符合联邦法律的残障定义，学龄儿童就能获得免费的为个人专门设
计的教育 INDIVIDUAL EDUCATION PLAN 简称IEP。
美国现在公立学校里面 大约有10％的学生接受特教服务。
其中学习障碍（LEARNING DISABILITIES)占绝大多数 60％以上。
然后是其他一些我们在中国也承认的残障，比如智障，身体残疾，聋哑，失明，自闭等等
另外 有的州把天才教育(Gifted And Talented Education, 简称GATE)也列入特教范围
内。

和他们的AP见面了，买了pizza给我们second year的TA学生吃！
听AP介绍了一圈，我的感觉就是这学校有钱，每个教室都有smartboard，笔记本电脑！
学生还可以 rent 笔记本电脑！而且还要通过面试和考试，学生才可以进入这个中学！
而且学生着装统一整齐，有小男孩儿还有小领带！可爱~~~~
后来见到了我们新的TA seminar的facilitater，他以前在district 75工作了很久，都
是和special Education的学生老师们合作！
知道很多信息，关于纽约高中 diploma，也听了一些他在DOE工作的故事！经验丰富的
资源了！
很佩服那些Special Education的老师们！

time的话是一个礼拜两三天呢，还是weekday每天半天实习？
我现在在考虑近期内念education以后到小学中学里教书。调查了一个education
program，实习期间是weekday每天上午半天到一个小学去实习教课，为期一年。不知其
他学校是不是情况也一样。但是因为最近一两年因个人原因weekday每天出席是做不到
的，一周最多三天。所以想请问一下各位前辈，各位念书时有没有一周集中两三天实习
的这种呢？

我担心了一阵子，今天终于接到通知那个research nurse的位置批准了。所以实际上是
科里想到要找人，然后找了我，一切都说好后才向上面申请的这个位置。
在这个research 位置之前面试了另外一个医院系统的一个diabetes educator的prn，
上星期四新年前也接到了offer了，给我一个星期来决定，这个是目前给的hourly pay
最高的，竟然比我现在的floor nurse还高，有点不可思议，因为non-bedside的位置一
般都比floor pay的低。没办法只好据了，因为reaserch 和 DM educator都是weekday
。我已经把dm educator的位置推荐给版上一个我认识的姐妹，希望她成功。
1/31 开始新的research工作，希望跟我想象中的一样，而且希望下次给多加工资，我

即使公立学校是多么主观地想给孩子们一个很好的教育，可是公立学校的模式ｅｔｃ，
使得老师们的手脚是被捆绑的，老师们是无法施展的；
依据作者的理论来看呢，progressive education 看上去比traditional education能
给孩子提供更多的思考／探索的空间。在traditional education是主流的社会里，选
择与大众不一样的路，还是需要很多勇气地。

人全新手，之前只在ps3上on track过 ：）。
活动一共两天， 每天上下午各跑两场， 所以一共八场。 每场25分钟左右， 新手绿组
有教练指导。 教练很nice， 纠正了很多我的错误习惯。 第二天上午跑完了就直接说
我开的不错， 所以下午去和chief商量下午两场solo。 最后一场和黄组一起跑， 不断
让道给别人。 ~~~
总体感觉的确是driver education而不是racing， 所以尤其是手动挡的porsche bmw之
类的有必要去上课。最高速度开到120 mi+ ， 不过更重要的是过弯而不是纯速度。 |

员。一般外国人读了没什么大用场。 educational technology 也可以一读，但前途也

一项，正规的education （本硕博）单独做一项放在最上面。
我所担心的“不齿”是指， 那些从名校出身的人看到俺们这些破学校出来的小虾米就
因为在更好的学校镀了点金就敢把postdoc的学校放在education (& training)一栏。
感觉有点自我吹捧之嫌。
应该有人会有这种想法吧。就是想问一下review过类似简历的人的看法，如果大多数（
EECS方向的）觉得这样做给人不舒服，那就把postdoc学校拿下来呗。 |

其它人群的的education and training grants，他到现在没有任何research funding
，所以不得不申请这些。 这种纯培训的grants是不是写在简历里面有点怪怪的，对他
来说系里评tenure会不会是负面影响？对研究好像一点用处都没有，业界也无法认可啊
