不过没有提到很地道的数学家
似乎每一个伟大的人物都以和Einstein交谈过感到无比的光荣。杨振宁提到他当初见
Einstein的时候，过于激动，以至于事后根本不知道自己说过什么Einstein又说过什么
。Lev Landau，苏联最伟大的那个物理学家，就说自己当年参加某会议的时候，有幸和Ei
nstein说过几句话，而有某个认识Landau的人说Landau纯属幻想，当时此人和Landau一
起，坐在那次开会的大厅的最后几排，连听都听不清，根本不可能谈话。可见Landau对
Einstein的景仰程度。 |

faculty来说可以算是很牛B了，但是对于老方这种senior的已经搞了一辈子的人来说，
就只能算so so。不要说是院士，离aps fellow的级别也还差了不少。引用率最高的一
篇文章还是95年到了arizona之后跟老外合作的，被引118次，这也是方唯一一篇被引用
上百次的文章。可见方励之89之前确实没有做出过什么重要的工作，他的名声和地位绝
对是靠政治得来的，当然其中部分的也是80年在中国搞科普所得，必须承认科普工作也是
有重要的社会意义的。
(BTW，有人说你这个搜索未必完整。不错，确实不能保证100％毫无遗漏。但是我

俺应该快点回的。俺回晚了，灌水不够敬业。不过也没办法，资本家刚才喊我

俺的娃天分一般没啥奇怪的。不过俺个人觉得，真正有音乐天分的，要么能靠
音乐赚钱的，要么能留点传世之作的。既然有天分的读书的时候能够一边读好
书，一边去卡内基厅演奏。那毕业以后自然也能周一周三做脑外手术，周二周
四去卡内基跟马友友同台，周五写电影音乐传世之作，应该不是难事。
想想克林顿那种的，真的是一点天份都没有。萨克斯那种不怎么需要天分的
乐器，居然还是当了总统之后，Kenny G 看在总统的面子上跟克林顿同台
了一下。克林顿的人生太悲催了，人生错过太多了，俺都不兮得说他了。
不过老实说克林顿还算可以了，Albert Einstein 更悲催。都已经成了物理
界的巨牛了，也没能捞到跟 Fritz Kreisler 同台拉一把二重协奏曲。这世
上还能有比 Albert Einstein 更没有天分的么？还能有比 Albert Einstein

发帖数: 3006 | 42 Newton和Einstein俩人成就差不多，都对当时的常识作了颠覆性的发展。Newton否定了“天堂存在”这一常识、证明人间的法则同样适用于天空(这在当时人看来简直不可思议，恐怕Einstein的相对论还更好理解点：什么？居然有人说太阳月亮的运动跟弓箭炮弹的运动由同一法则决定？)；Einstein则否定了Newtonian常识、证明宇宙尺度的法则和人间法则确实不一样。。。
然而既然讨论为什么现代科学起源于西方而不是东方，我个人觉得直接原因很简单：因为Galileo和Bacon这俩人出生在西方而不是东方。
Newton和Einstein虽然重要，但是他们出成果的时候现代科学思想已经成长起来了，所以他们不算创立者。
整个中世纪秉承古希腊的古典哲学，类似于中国的阴阳五行有一套“Four causes”学说，能够解释一切事情。既然对一切事情都有模模糊糊的回答，自然没有继续深挖的动力。
