John Elway (1) ：皇冠上的明珠 ---------写在Elway即将进人NFL名人堂之际
一九八三年是 NFL选秀群星荟萃，星汉争辉的一年。这一年的选秀产生了历史上最伟大的
一届四分卫。他们中的皎皎者，占据了之后十几年几乎每一届超级杯的赛场，左右了NFL
，尤其是AFC的大势。这一届四分卫，可以毫不夸张的称为NFL历史上最灿烂的皇冠，而皇
冠上最耀眼的明珠，则是 John Albert Elway, 被许多人称之为历史上最伟大的四分卫。
Elway一九六零年六月二十八人出生于足球世家，大学时代便名满天下，在斯坦福大学两
次入选全美明星队, 并在1983年状元及第，力压同辈俊秀 Dan Marino, Jim Kelly, 高中
NFL选秀头名秀，被Baltimore Colts 相中。但 Elway 心高气盛，”I am not going to

非一帆风顺。他从出道到成名，从一波三折到功德园满，始终和两个名字紧密的联系在一
起。这三个人在八十年代初到九十年代末的十几年中，亦师亦友，或陌路或仇家，演出了
一幕NFL历史上绝无仅有，充满戏剧性 ，却又无可奈何的恩怨情仇铁三角。他们就是丹
佛野马队前任教头Dan Reeve和现任教头Mike Shanahan。
Elway能到丹佛打球，和 Reeve的慧眼识才有很大关系, 而且看起来这两个人是近乎完美
的组合。到丹佛以前， Reeve在达拉斯奉行长传急攻的站术，甚合Elway的胃口。可是事
情并未象想象的那样发展。到丹佛后Reeve的战术变的日渐保守，Elway也象任何一个新人

，Elway是状元，Kubiak是第八轮197位。Kubiak给Elway做了9年替补直到退休去当教练
。两人是室友，铁哥们。
Kubiak除了是替补QB还兼职field goal holder。91-92赛季Playoff对Houston时他把一
个关键的extra-point搞砸了，导致最后两分钟23：24一分落后Houston，因为这一年
Kubiak已经准备退休，他很不希望以这个失误结束球员生涯，他拉着即将上场的Elway
的胳膊说："Pick me up, Wood！"。Elway回忆说：“As I was walking out there, I

和Marino相比，Elway是幸运的，在96到98这三年中，野马拥有全联盟最好的跑锋，再也
不用一个人独扛大梁。他就是Terrell Davis。Davis大学时代在佐治亚打球，名不见经转
。95年
NFL选秀时Shanahan慧眼独具，将他在第六轮挑中，野马因此进人新的时代。Elway后来说
，我一听他走路的声音，就觉得他不同凡响，可堪大任。Elway没有失望，Davis第一年就
跑出1117码，7次掠阵。之后Davis全面开花，在96到98年中跑出令人震惊的5296码，49次
掠阵，成为历史上第四个一季跑过两千码的天皇巨星，夺超级杯两次，超级杯MVP一次，
赢得了TD的美誉。历史上没有哪个跑锋有比Davis更出色的三年战绩了。也因为TD的出色

不幸的是Davis职业生涯在98年后出现重大挫折，也许是天妒英材，他受伤了，再也没有

如果fox要白菜，elway不要，那说明fox也是比较随遇而安，不想huge change。那就留
下来继续coach Manning-less Broncos就是了呗。 他又不是非要在近两年内拿戒指的
那种级别。去别的地方还能有比elway更厉害的GM，更fantasy的阵容？
如果elway要，fox不肯要，elway倒是可能觉得白菜和fox关系也不行了，fox也不肯努
力coach这team了，拉倒找别人赌一把算了。 白菜毕竟是他这个GM的最大legacy之一。

Superbowl victory should not be the sole judgment of a QB's greatness. Had
Elway retired before the 1997 season, he would be just like Jim Kelly. Now
people talks him as of he's the greatest ever played.
I believe, the greatest is between Montana and Marino. Marino never had a good
running game or a consistent defense. On the other hand, even Montana himself
admits that he's blessed to have played for a very good team.

观众不是吵吵着换提包吗？行，让提包上，把Pro Bowl WR Brandon Lloyd给trade了。
Elway现在是有苦说不出： 明摆着这个赛季要摆烂抢安猪腊的，架不住提包特别拿自己
当跟葱，走狗屎运赢了一场又一场。他Elway总不能明说许输不许赢吧？
