这个系没有几个TA职位，叫兽绝大多数没有钱，但拼命找学生。老印一般不读博士，所
以绝大多数博士生都是中国人。

第二个学期就高诉学生，系里没有钱，出去找GA (graduate assistant).

台湾还是比较规范的，比如台大专门有个词汇表：

是昨天我不小心看到了一篇新闻文章，才惊讶的发现其实最早做出来的，有可能是
Wayne State University的潘卓华。虽然他的投稿时间和Deisseroth的类似，但是因为
他是一个没有什么名气的学者，而且他的文章包装得不对，所以他的文章被百般耽误，
最后比Deisseroth的晚了一年才发表。
在2004年底潘就做出了和Deisseroth几乎一样的文章，除了用的细胞略微不同：他做的
神经细胞是从视网膜分离的，而Deisseroth 做的神经细胞是从大脑分离的。然后他把
文章陆续投向Nature, Nature Neuroscience,Journal of Neuroscience，却统统遭到
了拒稿。然后大半年之后，也就是2005年8月份，Deisseroth 的文章发表在Nature
Neuroscience上。潘得知之后，心都凉了。

现在我想简述一下我在美国七年求学执教的一些第一手见闻和感受。一是希望起到抛砖
引玉之效，二是给自己总结一下，为自己回国工作后和人侃教育整理一下材料。
几点说明：
1 我在21世纪初在北京某大学A学习，之后来美留学读博士（涉及学校 B C），再往后
在美国执教（大学D）。我对国内本科硕士，国外本科博士等阶段的基础科学教育（包
括学习和教学）都有一定体会，在我的系列中也会对中美的大学做一些对比。
2 我的专业方向属于纯数学（以及相当程度的理论物理）。我对实验类学科或工科了解
很少，故无法涉及这些方向。但我教过不少数学课（大学里学生最杂的课），这使得我
能大范围接触全校各个专业学生并由此感知他们的数学水平。
3 我求学的学校各自代表了中美的最高水平，我执教的也是老牌藤校。一方面我感觉到

部分殚精竭虑，狼狈光头谢顶 思考定理中，貌似犯错的还不多。

要退休教授所在的一派不掌权，要为难这个教授，就说不给emeritus。
最后多方角力，综合平衡下来，还是给了。 |
