事情起因于一个英语单词 , EMPOWER。全组会上不知怎的提到这个词。我说不明白。一
小白同事立即接茬说，你们中国政府控制老百姓，当然不会让你们 EMPOWER。
会后老板私下对我讲，他很不满组里同事（除了老板和我，还有一个老印，都是老美）
的言行。之前也让他（欧洲人）受到过伤害。他要教训一下那个小白。之后老板给全组
发信，向我道歉小白的言行，并不指明地批了小白。小白收信后很不安，跑来向我道歉
。 说实在的，我和这小白关系还不错。于是安慰了他几句，说知道他不是有意冒犯。
顺便给他洗了洗脑，告诉他不要偏听偏信美国媒体，因为有很多偏见。 之后小白给老
板回信，讲我并没有对他的言行有意见。

2013年9月28日，由香港求是基金会举办的“2013年度求是奖颁奖典礼”在清华大
学隆重举行，北京生命科学研究所（下称北生所）所长王晓东获得100万元杰出科学家
大奖，获奖理由为，取得“杰出的学术成就”和“在建设北生所的过程中，为科研环境
培育、科研文化形成、科研制度建立以及年轻科学家培养方面做出了卓越贡献。”
12月19日，中国科学院授予王晓东科学院外籍院士称号。
一时间，王晓东风光无限。
然而，他内心深处却一直在苦苦思索一个问题，北生所的未来在何方。

熟悉生命科学领域的人，都知道北生所是体制外试验田，不仅享受国家稳定资金支持
，其学术成果和学术地位也为业界翘楚，国内顶尖，国际上也不输于发达国家的一流研

不全。
Waters分析和制备系统用的不是同一个系统，你说10ML／min，应该算是半制备了。反
正几个月前Waters是要求我们用EmPower的。我们的流速是10－50ML／min。Waters系统
维护和维修的价格都不低，至少比绝大部分的HPLC价格高挺多的。
Agilent的软件很糟糕，非常愚蠢，但比较直观，我觉得比EmPower直观。 |
