现有两炙手offer（EE），实在难以取舍，请大侠们给点建议：
Princeton: EE rank 12, Engi 13, overall 1;
U.Michigan: 5 4 23.
另外给的奖是：
Princeton: 1/4 Fellow + 1/4 TA+ 1/2 RA;
U.Michigan: Full fellowship.
但总金额差不多。
是慕名校虚名取Princeton还是踏踏实实以专业为重取U.Michigan？现有两炙手offer（EE），实在难以取舍，请大侠们给点建议：

available in the Chemical Engineering Department. This position is with full
financial support (about $19,000/y + health insurance).
Vanderbilt University is a very good university in the States. The
university's overall ranking is 18 in 2004, and the Chem. Engi graduate
program ranks 48 this year by USNEWS.(The overall Graduate Engineering ranks
51).

我的基本情况：我在国内和美国都上过班，实际共四年。有EIT 无PE。civil
engineering 第三个 master’s degree刚毕业。
工作地区：Houston地区。希望结识Houston 及全国各地区的朋友。
salary：95k，刚接到。
谈点感想：
1. 想拿100k 不容易，需要有些真东西。实在没有就看文献。
2. 简历要写好，我的改了7遍。最初给我改简历的女士都烦了，后来索性就装作干
其他事情。但我无论如何都要再去。毕竟改简历是他们的工作。总之，学校career
center一定要好好利用。
3. 面试时间较短，感觉不好不重要。我这个面试两坏兼具。还有offer。很意外。
关键的应在对你的“thank you letter” 的反应。
4. 被小印歧视的事碰到太多了。这次屡次面试血淋淋的事实让我清醒。这个offer
是唯一一个面试的人里没小印的。相信大家明白我说的意思。我今后会能够帮老中就一
定帮老中。
5. 学校所在位置及其重要。奉劝新近来美国学习的同学学civil engi |

两个公司差不多 exxonmobil比shell保守点
但是言归正传 石油公司upstream和downstream实在差太多，downstream每年的budget
和upstream完全不能比，到时候budget不够做完实习想招你也不行啊，budget少也意味
着以后再公司内部也发展小机会少。你还是做RD的，恕我直言，石油公司跟银行其实是
差不多，银行里离money越近的职位越吃香，油公司离油越近的岗位越有发展，什么
reservoir/drilling engi都是去几年油田发展越来越大，RD里面一来很多人研究越做
越窄是很不利于职业发展的，再有石油是保守行业，都是RD到处求人用自己技术。同学
，都工作了，想开点，PhD就是个经历，没多少人一辈子作着跟PhD相关的事 |

听了。
大家都很高兴可以节省成本。但是今天会后那个senior engineer让我和他double
check一下。却发现老问题就出现了如果去掉那两个解决问题的元件。原来他压根不明
白我为什么要加哪两个元件。现在的项目很急，还有一个技术难题，由于我这两天不想
再帮他了，所以他也没什么进展。但他今天在进度报告会上，说他解决了，让我当时肃

control，keyless entry。
去年做过全车tune up，上个月在costco换的michelin轮胎（4个），还换了前闸。这个
车很省油，不开空调的时候我可以开到 37 mile/gal。
车外观基本还可以，就是前面hood上有部分油漆好像老化了，不过因为车是浅色的，所
以还不是特别难看。
check engie最近亮了，我同事用computer给查了一下，是code 171。因为我要卖车，
所以不准备修了。

大家都是“精明人”rational, 买房更多是个投资。Milpitas的问题是垃圾场和一个什
么少管所还是监狱什么的，所以大部分人都不喜欢。那个房子那里还是能闻到臭味的。
我们去过那一片好几次，几乎都有味儿。就算你鼻子不那么敏感，可是market上其他的
buyer有这个concern，就会直接影响房价。

有个性的步枪就剩AN94和G3A3了。
用多了AN94发现其2发点射之精准名不虚传，近战时候爆头秒杀:25dmg x 2 shots-

远战对其他Assault, Engie, Support的武器全面压制，对sniper也不落下风。

1. 版上的大多人都有一个自己比较熟悉的领域(语言哲学，科学哲学，东方哲学..)， 基
本上只倾向于在自己有信心的话题上关税。(可能因为大家都怕露怯：)
2. 现在大家都了解和关心的话题的交集主要在于科学，科学的哲学前提，科学和人类的
关系，以及基于科学的世界观和其它世界观的比较问题。这个问题一出现，本版就水势大
张。
这个很自然，因为大家或多或少都觉得have something to say about science.
3. 但是就我考古和自身经历的讨论看来，这类讨论往往有虎头蛇尾之嫌。不能深入自然
有问题太为复杂的关系，但是也有一点是，看着乐闹的一堆帖子，仔细一看发现各人还是
在说自己的那三斧头，你打你的太极拳，我玩我的空手道，“交流”都有凌空拆着之嫌。
比如说我总是说这说这就到十九世纪那几个哲学家身上了，然后有人把分析哲学抽出来一
亮，我就虚幌一招撤了。：)

所以我觉得在大家应该提倡一种新的风气，扩大自己对不同思想的了解。先表扬一下engi
nvalue同学近期前往wisdom求道取经的榜样。当然我们也可以就近利用本版资源，比如p |
