最近BBC出了两集的纪录片“The Chinese are Coming”，拍摄者走访了非洲，南美，北美，讲中国在这些地方的投资，中国的产品对这些地方的影响。
虽说竞争者之间的相互批评或者吹捧，总是缺乏诚意，但从别人的角度来了解自己国家总是一件有趣的事。
国际上有指责中国对非洲是新时代的“殖民”和“侵略”，也有很多国家指责中国推高了能源价格。我有个韩国同学，总把中国当做假想敌。国际市场上一些异动，原油，黄金，铁矿石涨价，他都要说是中国大量购入的原因。就连去年棉花价格涨了98%，他也要说是因为中国人购买衣服多了的缘故。
虽然BBC这个纪录片也有点这样的倾向，闲的时候看看还不错，拍的挺好的。

悲剧性的人物。他只是我们这一代人中的一个，因为我们这一代人本身就是悲剧性的一

出生与文革的初期，整个童年就是目睹了文革的兴衰。少年时代，则是在一片“拨乱反
正” 声中渡过，看着“一小部分人” 先富裕起来，当然是不择手段的那种。别人要积
累几代的财富，这些人只用一个晚上。从小接受的价值观在一夜间被摧毁，使得我们无
所适从。这一切，都是发生在我们形成世界观最重要的时期。当心中最神圣的东西也被
碾碎之后，我们还能剩下什么呢？我们的悲剧性就在于我们注定了要成为时代变迁的牺
牲品，历史把我们放在那个十字路口，而来往的车辆则不顾高悬的红绿灯，将我们的灵

这个节目由美国休斯顿公共广播和休斯顿大学工程学院制作，从1988到2014共制作3000
期，通过历史资料介绍
对人类文明产生巨大影响的科学理论、工程技术、人文思想。。。。从计算机到核潜艇
，从外科手术到艺术流派，anything you can think of , you can find an episode
about it，more or less :)。一期节目通常3－4分钟适合attention span较短的成
年人，especially小孩子。同时还有相应的文字和图片配套，对应的参考资料。 非常
不错liberal education 的材料。我个人也觉得这是个不错的旅游companion:)
在美国的朋友很多广播电台carry这个program, 外地的也可以通过互联网听，or
podcast from ipad, ipod,iphone.

因为治疗抑郁症的一线药物（SSRI，SNRI，Dopamine reuptake inhibitor）都是增加
脑内兴奋递质的，所以Depressed patients (who are actually bipolar but have
not yet had a manic episode), may switch into mania when given an 抗抑郁药，
比如 SSRI类药。而 Manic episode其中的一个显著表现就是spending sprees （疯狂
消费）, foolish business investments （胡乱投资）。和你很像。
建议你找专科精神科医生好好诊断和治疗。
另外，无论抑郁症还是Bipolar（抑郁症+躁狂），目前最有效的治疗方法是：
psychotherapy + psychopharmacology
psychotherapy---看临床心理学
psychopharmacology---看精神科并吃药

is unedited. "kill everyone in China" is still there. As of Sunday Oct 27 10
:22am.

The part is about 13 minutes into the show in the second segment.
Clearly ABC has NOT done everything it can to stop the publicity of the show
. They should either take this episode offline or delete the Kids-table

I was talking to somebody today about the Jimmy Kimmel incident. My friend
had not heard about it. That's part of the problem.

California drought, a new federal report says.
A report issued Monday by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric
Administration said natural variations — mostly a La Nina weather
