岁小伙儿克里斯多夫·阿特金斯就是其中一个窗口。若要数起一直活跃在中国足记圈里
的外国人，他是唯一一个。
第一次看到阿特金斯是在东亚杯的蚕室体育场记者席上，他留着长发，看起来像游
荡于中国的西方纨绔子弟。最近他把头发剪短了，看起来更“资深”一些。
这个曼联[微博][微博]球迷在伦敦大学亚非学院中文系求学时结识了一个来自东莞
虎门的姑娘，然后随她到了中国。恰好，阿特金斯的母亲是一所英国语言学校的老师，
早前被派到青岛分校担任校长，他的父亲和两个妹妹随之搬到了中国。种种机缘巧合，

2011年，刚毕业的阿特金斯漂荡在伦敦。他职业生涯的第一篇报道，却是跟中超有

07/2010 我投了一片文章到一JOURNAL（BASE 在4月一片CONFERENCE文章的基础上）。
结果拖了7个多月才出REVIEW。一看就知都是某某GROUP B写的。B 要求我补充DATA，与
其去年11月 (which is 4 months after my journal submission) 的一篇TECHR EPORT
作比较。B'S TECH REPORT improves my paper and subsumes my results. If I'm
doing the data comparison, it's like to "suicide" in my paper. Plus, I'm
only given one month for revision.
我很怀疑B故意拖了这么久才REVIEW。
真是太欺负人了。 |

to make such a request -- your paper was submitted in July, which was early
than their November results. Explain carefully that their improved results
benefited from you work.
DON'T be emotional in your rebuttal. The rule-of-thumb in peer review system
is assumes that "it is the authors' responsibility to clarify issues".
Having emotional words or sentences will only have negative effects there --

to outstand others and prove they are "idiots".:-) You usually win such
battles but occasionally you'll lose a few.
If I were you I'll just accept it and move on to other ideas. Keep mind that
Group B may be nice people, who you can make friends with or learn a lot
from later on -- They'd better be decent; being a step stone for great minds
is an honor.

profession long enough, you will see plenty of cases. Pick your battles
wisely.When you can't fight back or the benefits of fighting back outweigh
the costs, just move on and make better use of your time.
It's a paper, not the end of the world.

reviewer要求你和一篇tech report（相信reviewer不会傻到点出是他的工作吧？）
作比较，即使它出现得更晚，只要是可公开获得的，那你很难绕开这个要求

些什么纸袋子，衣架之类的东西。在这家daycare不到一个月，已经接到5次accident r
eport。其中有4次是摔倒，一次是被其它小孩抓伤眼睛。
这个daycare的老师一般。宝宝还不怎么会自己吃饭，只会吃finger food，老师从来不
会帮着喂一点。所以每次下班去接他的时候，他都是又累又饿，一累就情绪不好，脾气
很大。而且晚上睡得也差了很多，老醒，醒了就哭。我快累死了，也不知道怎么办才好
。
宝宝现在的语言发育好象有点没跟上，说的词很少。以前问他鼻子眼睛在哪，他能自己
点着鼻子眼睛给你看。现在问他，他根本睬都不睬。

，还想着申请读PhD，申请了名校不说，还有烂校保底，说明是已经对申请过程和注意事
项进行过深入了解。请大家换位思考一下，如果自己边工作，边考GRE，还要忙推荐信和
套磁等繁琐申请环节，最后还能成功申请到Berkeley的全奖PhD，这是一般人随随便便
就能办到的吗？所以，我认为lz是之前已经感觉到工作遇到了一些瓶颈，才思变，而且
其实是自
己倾向于读个名校PhD的。发这个帖更多是想得到一种认同，而非大家嗤之以鼻。
2. 再看看下面这位的言论，28岁读PhD到33岁左右毕业，就到了退休年龄？又有工业界
经验，又有名校PhD背景，想做技术，还是走学术，甚至转行做consulting，不懂什么叫
选择个球？又荒废了啥？酸葡萄心理？？
总之，我是支持lz读PhD，工作了几年，知道了自己想要什么，需要积累什么，在读PhD
期间好好利用这几年名校PhD的资源，磨刀不误砍柴工，lz将来大有可为！我一直认为做
自己喜欢做感兴趣和认为有意义的事情，远比“赚钱”本身有意思的多，而且，不用担
