个骑马的标志和一个黄色的 Encanto Equestrian Center 的牌子。过了这条土路后在
路的左边有个土的小停车场就是。Trail 从停车场后面的一角延伸出去，在 google 卫
星照片上能清楚地看到这条道翻山进 Fish Canyon 前的绝大部分。

洛杉矶地区没有最好的私立高中，只有最合适的私立高中。四所最严格私立高中是
Flintridge Prep, Pasadena Poly, Webb 和 Harvard-Westlake. 有些人可能会说最严
格的就是最好的，但对于大部分学生来说这种说法不对。对于大部分学生来说这种严格
的学校压力过大，每晚五小时的家庭作业 (脑子好使的), 加上周末，从九年级开始就
用大学程度课本。再加上2到3小时的体育训练或者演奏练习，加上社团，公共服务，和
课外活动。在申请大学的时候，大学不会因为你上一所非常难的私立学校，而对你网开
一面，反而在这里更难拿到好成绩。
最好从你所居住的周围开始咨询，因为你不会想要每天开很远的路程。就算是比较不那
么难的学校每晚也有3到4小时的家庭作业。有些学校有非常强的运动计划或者艺术计划
，所以选什么学校完全看你需要什么。不要太看中升学率，因为那主要取决与学生而不
是学校。

其实ultimate fitness solution还是找到一项自己喜爱的运动，只不过我这种没有任
何基础的人从头开始很多运动已经来不及了，可能也没有teenager的那种passion了。
想想从小挺向往的运动居然是Archery和Equestrianism，后来发现这边小孩儿上高中的

时的车赶到Carlsbad去。我们早上8点出发，先在Tucson downtown转了转，感觉Tucson
还真是小啊，就这还号称AZ第二大城市？还赶不上天津一个区。。。downtown也没什么
，就有个教堂 （El Presidio Plaza Park - 400 South Main Avenue, Tucson, AZ
85701），还有个色彩非常新艳的小房子，不知道是什么，再之后去了Pima County
Courthouse (115 N Church Ave, Tucson, AZ 85701), 都没有什么太大的意思，我们
也没有多耽误时间，直接就去了National Park。
这个park被Tucson市分为东西两区，看网上的介绍说是西区比较有意思，那我们就把东
区pass掉了。从Tucson downtown开车20分钟左右吧，就到了Saguaro National Park的

，周遭居民多有养马的（我的房东就有一只），所以走在路上经常有车、马并行的状况
，倒也不算纯想像：）

1900 a month depends on how many weeks in a month... soon, she will start
taking extra classes, chinese, japanese, piano, ballet, kendo, karate,
equestrian, all cost $$$...
also need to start saving for her college.. so far only 1 kid, but what
happens if I get one or two more? got to save for rainy days..
