种族分类是啥来源？基于什么标准？ 本文做个初步探讨。抛砖引玉，希望更多人研究

1997年， 白宫的管理和预算办公室（federal office of management and budget :
OMB）颁布联邦政府15号行政命令（Directive 15, 类似中国中央政府红头文件），提
供关于种族分类的统一标准供联邦政府各部门使用。主要用途是给联邦人口普查局（us
census Bureau）在10年一度的人口普查中使用(2000 人口普查）。 该标准比以前标
准的一大区别是允许个人报两个或者以上的种族分类（例如同时报黑人，白人，等同于
说自己是黑白混血）。

AMERICAN EYE STUDY）正在华人社区中展开。
奇怪的眼科检查
在美国定居多年的华人王丁（化名）参与了这项调查，现在他开始为这个调查感到百思
不得其解：“说检查眼睛为何要获取我的血样和DNA？”。
这一切要从9月说起，王丁当时接到CHES工作人员的电话，征询他是否愿意参加这项眼
科健康调查计划。60多岁的王丁眼睛不太好，当他看到这样的免费服务，而且又是当地
一家有名的眼科医院检测，他满口答应下来。
在当地，眼科检查至少要收取65美元的挂号费，如果再加一些眼科治疗，费用可能在几
百美元甚至上千美元，王丁说：“CHES不仅不收费，而且还承诺25美元的车马费。”对
很多像王丁这样的普通华人来说，这是一个诱惑。
