1) 约翰*济慈生于1795年。幼丧父母，由祖母抚养长大。他的弟弟汤姆1818年死于肺结核。济慈在照顾汤姆的过程中不幸被感染，两年后去世。死时年仅25岁。
2) 我第一次知道济慈是在进大学不久的一次诗歌社团活动。主持活动的师兄刚介绍完济慈的生平，下面立刻响起一个女生的轻呼：(这么年轻就死去)太可惜了。而我的第一反应是：济慈的祖母会非常、非常伤心吧。。。不知为什么，这个镜头一直在我的记忆里清晰地存在，而大学时代其他很多更重要的事情却慢慢淡去。
3) 济慈最著名的作品当然是<<夜莺颂>>。他本人学医。所有诗作几乎都是在去世前两年创作。下面翻译的<<希腊古瓶>>，直译的话是<<对一个希腊瓶子的颂歌>>，是济慈数首颂歌之一。我本人也是不久前才偶尔读到、认真欣赏。这是对一个希腊古瓶的怀古之作。古瓶上应该画着树叶、人物、村庄等等。

去年8月25号晚上,从家里去学校的路上被抓,40的路,条子说我开了54.二话不说,一张
ticket,我一看,还是我们学校的警察,nnd,下手真狠.条子是迎面开来的
然后就去法院要求上庭,初定是11月底吧,一共要去两次,前一次递交motion,第二次
trial
谁知道我把日子记错了,递交motion那次忘记去了.第二天再去,说只能重新安排时间.于
是motion递交排到1月27号,今天trial.我对本州的speedy trial不是狠了解.由于上一
次也是我的失误,没能按原有排期,所以我也不指望靠speedy trial的trick了.
1月27号,坐在大厅里面溜溜的等了几个小时,无聊透顶,自己翻看着打官司的书.老爸非
要陪着去看看,也是无聊的坐了半天.倒是前台坐着的一个貌似intern的小姑娘clerk,她

以前跟大家讲过，因为加州经济不好，学区请家长捐钱来补贴教育。今年的筹款
deadline是本月底，如果筹不到足够的钱的话，学区就会再减掉四个老师。刚才听到一
个老美跟我讲，他们学校里有些亚裔告诉他，"It is our belief in my community
that we did not give money to the public schools". 好像这些亚裔就是要占别人
的便宜，take free ride一样。我听了很吃惊也觉得很被羞辱。那些人自己不愿意捐就
好了，把整个亚裔拿出来说事干什么？我自己觉得咱亚裔家长还是挺支持的吧。我们许
多双职工的家长要上班，时间上投入不了，金钱上还是大方的吧？
