还有个问题是有些州有Excise Tax，是除了sale tax之外每年还要交的，就跟房子地税
每年都交一样。不知道这个Excise Tax是按MSRP计算还是按（成交价-lease到期残值）
算。
如果是前者，以麻省为例，$70K的X5第一到第三年Excise amount分别是 $1575, $1050
, $700，如果你每三年更新个lease的话每三年就要重复交这三个最高的数字。
如果是按后者计算，那lease 要比买划算，从Excise Tax角度看。 |

，那之后的capital gain收入。事实上大部分人excise了就卖了吧，一般没理由（也没
钱）继续持有。
比如你option本身是60块，excise时候是100块。这40块差价要交income tax。假如没
事不卖掉option而且你拿出了60块现金来持有这一股，那么你仍然有40块的所得，这要
交ordinary income tax。以后要是股票涨到了110时候你卖出，那么这10块所得是
capital gain。假如股票跌回50块。你可以报50块的capital loss deductible，但是
前面产生的40块钱ordinary income tax依然要交。这就是为什么.com bubble的时候有
些人拿了option然后欠IRS这些tax就破产了。 |

部分。
除非你有豪华车/船，或者很多辆/条车/船，或者有commerical用途的车/船，否则这部
分钱不多。
如果一定要报，建议你把RTA的规定找到留个记录，以后如果被查拿出来就是了。
对于WA这个不收州税的地方，有很多模棱两可的地方。比如卖房子的excise tax算不算
sales tax？上次在飞机上碰到一个在IRS的人，他说大部分WA的报税人都很谨慎。对于
可能overlap的部分（比如各种 excise tax和general sales tax），如果报两次，就
有abuse的嫌疑 -- 他说的不一定对，仅供参考。

我住在Waltham（02452）,今年8月份在West Roxbury (02132)的Prime Honda买了一辆
新车。今天收到了City of Waltham 给我寄来的一个269块多的账单，理由是“Notice
of Motor Vehicle and Trailer Excise for the year 2013”。查了一下，所谓的“
excise”就是消费税，但是我买车的时候付了6.25%的税了呀，难不成买车要付州税和
市税两种税？
我是第一次买车，我的理解是我买车当时交的钱里包含了应缴的税。因此我不太明白
Waltham现在给我寄的这个账单是怎么回事？如果确实是需要交的，那当然是二话不说
上交，但是在交之前我想搞清楚一下。希望大家指教！非常感谢！ |
