发帖数: 4591 | 1 第九天，因为飞机是半夜12点半，所以我们有一整天的时间去爬那座exit glacier。虽
然round trip才7.8迈，但是因为队伍中有几位同学不是经常hiking的，所以我们算了
下时间，预计9点半开始，4点下山（最后3点半就下山了）。
策略就是让速度比较慢的同学走在最前面，这样可以控制队伍速度，不会让走的慢的同
学轻易掉队失去登顶的信心。这一决策还是很有效的，同学们表现都相当出色，整个
trip才停下休息两次。
只是今天的天气开始出现阿拉斯加本色——阴雨天。最后一天，我们已经非常知足了，
而且只是毛毛细雨。。。就是相机藏在背包里不方便拿出来，所以错过了不少美景。

其实这座山登起来难度和Mt Si差不多，但是值得一提的是，我们在一个Z字形的trail
上狭路相逢了一只大黑熊！走在前面的女同学叫了一声，因为我走在比较靠后，传到我
这里的时候，就听说“有熊”，我噌地窜过去瞧瞧，本以为会是在远方某处，结果好家
伙，那黑熊就在我前方两米处，还沿着trail在向我走过来。。。
我当时就吓得往后一蹦，但头脑还算清楚， |

1. 我先试了ctrl+alt+F1 ～ F7，什么反应都没有
2. ctrl+alt+backspace，倒是退出了X server，但是紧接着X server又打开了，直接
进入GUI
Login window
3. sudo /etc/init.d/gdm stop，这个倒是有反应了，结果就是黑屏，只有屏幕左上角
有个光标
在闪，什么操作都做不了，只好重启

if you use multiThread, you can do a public counter=0. for
every thread, which you want to monitor, you counter++ when
you start that thread, and counter-- when you quit that
thread.
and your exit thread just check the counter, if it is 0
you can quit, if it is greater than 0 you can sleep some
time and check again. |

and want to quit them at once. But typing exit or logout each time
is kind of pain.. is there a way which can quit at once?!
BTW: another simple question: sometimes open many x-terminals, and
wanna know what is the process ID of a x-terminals, but use PS can not
tell.. any way to do this?

我贴子里已经说了，离开分自愿与被迫两种。首要原因是律所（特别是biglaw）的规矩
是所谓的up or out（你在金融这一
行，应该知道投行的这个行规吧。律所也类似）。即使想赖下去，如果升不成partner
，最后还是得离开。不过这次金融危
机以后，情况可能会变也不一定。被迫很好理解，layoff或fire。自愿离开的原因就很
多了。或许觉得up不了，不用等着别
人来开掉，自己先跑路。或许觉得life style不适合，换个环境。或许LD发了财，闲几
年也无所谓。
你说的不错，一般的exit option是in－house或小所。也有很多人去government
agency 或是non－profit。但是找in-
house也不容易。为什么？僧多粥少。相对而言，去小所容易一点。但是downside是，
pay cut和不可逆。不可逆是说再
要转回biglaw就难了。当然，如果是partner级的，转来转去所受的bias较小，前提是
你得有能力带进自己得business。

我第二次才过，好久没用那个网站了，密码一时想不起来，
我去看看有没有以前打印出来的用数码相机翻拍了给你。
还有，根据我的经验，最有用的是去找你们上一批的同学，
因为HESI给每个学校的题目是不同的。
我们这里的一个大学有好几个分校都用HESI做EXIT，
但是每个分校的考试题目是不同的，
比如我们学校用的是V1和V2，最后考的几个人是V5，
但是另一个分校同时参加考试的人用的就是V3或者V4。
即使是毕业前的练习考试不同的学校用的题目也都是不一样的。
所以我说你应该去找你上一届的同学，
当然，同学手中的题是不全的，如果你能跟老师套近乎，
从老师那里拿到全套的更好，我知道我们有同学曾经拿到过5套之多，
（经过比较你就会发现同样的套数会有很多重复的题目）。
还有就是你不可以尽依赖于REPORT上的要点，
我复习时用过很多REPORT（感谢我那帮鬼子同学的帮助），
但是后来我发现即使我知道这个要点要考，但是我不知道题目问什么，
所以最后还是有很多错的。：（

堵。
我以前是这么走的（下午下班高峰，往 Washington 方向）：
从 Oakland 或 Squirrel Hill 上 376 West 以后，走最左 lane。大部分情况下，在
过了 Oakland 之后开始堵。不过左 lane 还好，因为左 lane 是 Exit only for
Grant St Exit（Exit 71A）。
然后你就从 Grant St 出口出去。出去后马上左转，走 Blvd of Allies。这段 Blvd
of Allies 实际上和 376 是平行的（Blvd of Allies 在上面，376 在下面地道里）。
大部分老美脑子不开窍，都挤在 376 上。实际上 Blvd of Allies 反而不怎么堵（虽
然有几个红绿灯）。
最后你在 Stanwix St 再次进入 376。Stanwix St 入口是上桥之前的最后一个 376 入
