这个我觉得用 K/1 班小娃的 chess 来分析，比用 AMC 8 更加容易理解。
K/1 酱油 chess 班小娃的 chess checkmate-in-one problem，从数学解释
的角度看，其实画一个 decision tree 就一招鲜、吃遍天了。但如果 chess
教师上课让 K/1 班小娃去画 decision tree 来 explain why this is
checkmate，不说啥了，二十块板砖结结实实砸过来。 |

发帖数: 10908 | 2 首先首贴主要是说初中 prealgebra，小学的 arithmetic 的冲击不是那么大。
其次技术上而言，这个不是说联邦 common core 的定义。联邦 common core 的精神只
是 be able to understand beyond simply applying standard algorithm (具体文字
待查)。
首贴说的这个是 common core 的 implementation -- Smarter Balanced Assessment
System ，在 prealgebra 阶段的具体实现，是不是实际上搞成了 Stupid Bullshit
Assessment System 的问题。
当然父母可以跟娃说这个 SBAC 在 prealgebra 可能是个 questionable system。但是
a negation statement won't help our kids, it probably do more harm than
help。
我个人觉得，对于初中娃，正确的做法，是 explain：

发帖数: 10908 | 4 你的这个问题还是挺有意思的，虽然你这段回答有点空想社会主义。因为
我们是在说 SBAC explanation 而不是 AMC 8 标准答案的 explanation。
（这里插一句，其实在小娃的 K/1 chess class，也是需要小娃口头按小娃
的方式向 chess teacher 来 explain 的。否则最最基本的 why this is
checkmate 都不能交流也是不行的。那后面更复杂的 discovered check /
double check 就只能大眼瞪小眼了）。
这个关键的问题，对于一部分娃，我觉得还是具体 implementation 的问题。
我不会上传学校的作业，但我可能根据记忆举一个假象的例子。

vs writing 作为比方。
在整个小学 ELA 阶段，reading comprehension 是非常重要。不过问大伙儿
一个问题是：“Did we ever require student perform mandatory writing
just to assess their reading level?”。
The answer, in any reading level assessment system, is a simple
answer: NO, NEVER.
The answer doesn't means writing is not important. Instead, it
merely says, student shall read sufficient before do any writing

全部 graph 在草稿纸上让娃看。Frankly, I have never done this before.
但是看起来好像我一年的努力 get nothing. Because after 1st year, my kid
cannot or do-not-bother-to draw even e.g. the most basic decision-tree.
Even she seems be able to absorb the idea behind the decision-tree.
However, my effort finally get some paid off after 1.5 years.
作为一个数学普通娃，她开始能够自己半懂不懂地读懂 AMC 8 题目的解释。她虽然
绝不会真的去画 decision-tree 解题，但如果我问，虽然她经常忘记或者画得半对

这段文字确实写得是比较清晰的。
首先是 self-explaining，新的符号后紧跟其定义。
然后是一层一层剥洋葱式展开。
还有在合适的地方使用 layman language，比如 “sandwich” 这个词。
当出现有 ambiguity 但不适于立马大段解释的时候，先点一下，让人有准备。然后在
后续合适的段落再慢慢继续展开深入。

Actions Was Mailed。考古了一下发现很有可能是NOID，很无语。
现在的考虑是收到信后看看到底是什么，准备请个律师好好对付一下。有同学有相似的
经历么？
NOID体检的话一般会给几天？大家有什么好的主意么？
如果用过AP入境，但是没有用EAD，H1B依旧有效么？

原装EB2, PD 2012年8月，RD 2015年7月， 4月初current后找了congress man, 收到标
准模板回复，然后online SR, 催来的体检RFE，关于疫苗记录问题，4月30号交新体验
表，5月2 USPS网上显示delivered, 但一直网上状态没有更新，又做了一次SR，上周听
说排期提前退了，给senator发了邮件, 没有任何回音，昨天收到SR回复说under
review and is actively being processed by an officer，今天就收到这个Notice
Explaining USCIS' Actions Was Mailed |
