Maybe I have been drifted too faraway from SOA, can anybody
from the SOA side tell me if preliminary exams still mean
1(P), 2(FM), 3, and 4? I remember P and FM are now offered
more frequently, but assume 3 & 4 are still twice a year.
So basically this guy/girl passed all these 4, and another
extra course(module?) in sitting (of coz P and FM might
been taken at a different time)? Sounds impressive.
P.S. don't mean to offend, just asking...... |

the image of faraway stars which are gravititionally
lensed by an intermidiate star. But i notice that
in most of those pictures taken with Hubble telescope,
there are only two or four images of one star. I don't
know what caused this that we can only see discrete
number of images. Sometimes i do see continuous images
which appear as an arc. In my mind the image should appear
as a ring if not a circle. Who has any idea? THX |

贝叶斯：上课可能会比自己看书效果好，好像也没什么好书
machine learning初步: andrew ng @coursera, an introduction to machine
learning with application in r
SQL：select, from, where, group by, order by, 各种join 就是全部
不过知识技术固然好，，但不要太bookish了 ：） |
