I've worked and lived in Beijing, Hong Kong, Chongqing, and Xiamen -
Shanghai is unparalleled. My experiences in China have been overwhelmingly
friendly and enjoyable, but people here are unbelievably jerkish. I can't
quite pinpoint it. They also have a hilarious sense of entitlement which I
find fascinating.

without any basic knowledge of both.
