ve had this winter has resulted in a tremendous number of poppy plants
germinating across the reserve, but the recent warm, beautiful days with a
heat wave coming this weekend seems to be speeding up the season. We're now
looking at an early peak unless we get more rain to sustain it, and it may
be a shorter season than expected with the best bloom mid-March to early
April.

声明：请不要再问我花在何处，所有都在Carrizo Plain。我们从Hwy 58，东转Soda
Lake Rd，北上Panorama Rd，西沿Elkhorn Rd开了一圈，包括里面的Simmler Rd和
Shelby Rd。上面提到的路名可在Carrizo Plain官方地图找到。

至于最为动人的山坡花，Elkhorn Rd上，有好几条往北通往Temblor Range的土路，拣
条正对花谷的，用最好四驱，必须high clearance的SUV，开到不能再开，然后hike，
，，最好带上GPS，登山杖一根，午饭和水，胆大心细，敢于大坡直上直下，总能找着
