1 tsp almond extract
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 2/3 cup flour
1 tsp banking powder

确如此，我家两个孩子都在幼儿园里读过并喜爱这本书，就是没给我科普一下。这棵给
从小长大的男孩不断奉献出苹果、树枝、树干直至生命最后的树桩的giving tree，在
我看来就像父母之爱。当用苹果卖钱发财失败、用树枝造房娶妻失败、用树干造船远行
失败的男孩伤痕累累地回到儿时的家园时，奄奄一息的老树唯一能提供的正是他唯一需
要的——一个容他坐下歇息的树桩。故事的展开使读者对老树同情渐增，对孩子责备渐
深，累积到此高潮时突然逆转——孩子在世上打拼也不容易，不断索取未必得到快乐，
不断奉献未必就是不幸。皱纹深深的孩子坐在带有他小时候画的心形印记的树桩上，“
and the tree was happy”。故事结束而余韵丰足，孩子和大树、还有读者的道德倾向
都在最后的顷刻达到一个平衡点，无所谓得失、好坏，只记取平安相处。

的女神，却因为妒忌，屡屡迫害与宙斯有染的女性及腹中的小生命。行为和身份的矛盾

Juno 一个high school的junior 却挺着大肚子，pregnant like our teachers and
moms.
每个人都有自己沉溺的想法，Mark wants his music, Vanessa wants her baby,
Brenda wants a dog, 都因为其他的原因不能达成。
婴儿有了心跳，无法阻止Juno堕胎的意志，而fingernail却可以让 Juno放弃，
Jason Reitman 非常有才华，一部看似another teenage movies 平常中，让你哈哈笑
过，又思考许多。

猶記得某日閒来無事逛書店時，想買的書籍沒有找到，但卻無意在書店的一角發現了以
許多《時代雜誌》封面做為圖案的明信片。仔細檢閱後，引起筆者注意的是，這本由美
國人亨利鲁斯所發行，自西元1923年3月發行第一期，出版歷史迄今已近百年的西方雜
誌，上面竟然會有以東方领袖夫婦蔣介石與蔣宋美齡做為主角的封面，這個發現使筆者
驚訝不已，但驚訝的同時更感到好奇：是怎麼樣的一個封面故事使得這二位對中國近代
歷史有極大影響的人物受到亨利鲁斯的「青睞」，進而以他們做為封面人物？
因著這個好奇，筆者蒐集了多張以蔣介石及蔣宋美齡做為封面的時代雜誌明信片，發現
《時代雜誌》創辦人——亨利鲁斯先生，就曾多次以蔣介石及蔣宋美齡夫婦為封面，顯
示出他對中國及這對领導人夫婦的高度興趣，所以筆者便一一找出他們背後的封面故事
，比對當代的時事及國際政治背景，進行觀點研究，及小论文的撰寫。
