仔细考虑了下生物,化学,材料,实验物理等学科博士生得到的科研训练,对适应社会
生存是极其不利的。
这里不得不提到顶尖杂志诸如Nature和Science等,里面清一色的是漂亮的图片。"yes,
good picture is very important".基本上每个做生物的老板都会这么要求学生。所
有的努力都是为了得到几张漂亮的flashy的图片吸引眼球。如果你的paper公式多推导
多,编辑肯定非常不高兴。能删多少删多少,最好一个不剩。于是乎,这些学科的第一

最近比较了一下2013的ford explorer和2012的enclave
觉得总体上还是enclave好,确实安静宽敞,开起来也平稳
新的explore在电子设备上面比较潮,flashy,感觉要先进一点。
但是内部有点局促不是那么宽敞,开起来也没有enclave安静平稳,不过听说新的
explore算crossover,买得很好
至于保养起来和可靠性,就不知道这两个车和日车比起来怎么样了
对于日车,还想去看看mdx和pilot,感觉上mdx有一点点小,但是口碑好像特别好
4runner看起来也不错,评价怎么样?

Honda Accord/Civic: Economic feelings. (Don't want to use the word "cheap")
but works. new 2013 accord is more concise and neat.
Toyota: 凯美瑞/烤肉:Same economic feelings, trying to be better than Honda
here and there, but it is hard to say they are better, just different.
BMW: (X5 and 328) decent, upscale but not luxury. Neat and functional.
Acura: (TL and RDX) trying to match BMW's level, but you can see places
where "corners are cut" in relative to BMW

C/GLK是上述除了honda/toyota之外最烂的。也不是狠次,就是那种爆发户臭显摆,有
一片木头在内饰里面,就一定要给他做的狠亮,跟背景对比出来,让车里的乘客一下子
就注意到:嘿,你看我这可是胡桃木哦!! 那种喧宾夺主,呼之欲出的感觉,狠
flashy and fake. 丝毫没有谦谦君子的温良恭俭让。
BMW比E是风格不同,BMW重点突出,简洁明快。看你喜欢什么。Audi比BMW注重细节,不
过好不好就是主管评判了
内饰这东西,个人风格,审美标准不同,你要是觉得GLK或者C好的话,搞不好有人还觉

先说主要的要求
1. 三排座,进出第三排最好不太费劲。
2. 和老婆商量好了这辈子绝对不买日车,日托们看到这可以离开了。
3. 安全性好
4. 最好SUV, 对VAN实在无感
5. 加速不用太好,不是太差就行
6. 可靠性不要太差,自己动手能力一般,小修可以,大修够呛。
7. 预算有限,最好4万刀以内。
试车前先研究了一下,符合以上条件的基本上就是Explorer, XC90, Enclave及其两个
兄弟, Durango, 以及Santa Fe. 我现在开07 Santa Fe, 想换别的开所以现代就排除了
。对Chrysler尤其dodge没有太多好感,reliability无信心所以durango也放弃。下面
就按顺序写点自己的体会。
先去的ford dealer, 试了2辆,XLT with 3.5 engine and Limited with 2.0T engine
.
动力: 2.0T高速并道有点肉,3.5对大多数人应该足够了
内饰:个人更喜欢浅色皮椅,中控比较花哨但也比较实用
外形:我觉得很不错,LP觉得一般但也说不出毛病

其实吧。。把车做成开多少年都不用费心,一踩就走刹车就停,也不是每个厂子都能做
到的事情。当然,也的确不是天上有地下没的,不过我的意思是大家容易被比较flashy
的东西impress,却容易忽视本本分分做好每一点细节的厂子,所以提醒一下。

看来大家都看法比较保守啦。
俺老妈叮嘱一定要带亮的领带配深色衬衫。所以俺还准备了一根黄的呢。
以前买的领带大多是暗色调的呢。暗红的,灰的,深蓝的。
这件西装的确是flashy, 因为是羊毛和桑蚕丝的。是不是presentation的时候会比较
distractive? 俺怕dry clean把光泽洗掉了哦。

definitely. just don't wear shinny sweaters and flashy boots. everything
semi formal is fine. Unless you are interviewing for Political Science, Law
or Business school. I see my colleagues in B school wear very formal.

touch screen for work unless they come up with some way of auto-cleaning
smudges on the screen.
Any recommendations on windows laptop (make and model) with different price
rang with no touchscreen, but reliable, small, light weight, and powerful
enough for scientific work?
